Vegan Question
Hi, name is Jessica and I have a question about a Vegan Diet. Well, more like Vegeterian. I notice all the health menus have Chicken, Eggs, and so forth. While on occasion I do have an egg or some fish, I dont eat chicken, beef or pork. Im working on trying to get into a fitness spread next summer, and I was wondering if theres a vegetarian diet plan that will work as well as the ones with chicken and beef.
Yes.
Bearing in mind you can have Dairy and Soy, your complete Proteins can come from things like Low Fat Cheese, Yoghurts, Milk, a little Soy products like Soybeans, Tofu, Nattokinase, and also Egg Whites.
You can have other nearly complete proteins from things like Legumes and Rice, and small amounts of Protein from things like Whole-grains and Nuts.
You can also get a bog standard Whey concentrate Protein powder with Carbs, and have it after workouts, and maybe 1/2 a scoop with Breakfast, or a Carb free one, and add Carbs from food.
So your protein sources shouldn't be any problem at all really, and if you can add Fish, that will help as well. Just don't be too hasty with things like Tuna, as the Mercury content isn't too good, so if you have Fish of that kind, limit to 1 can every 2-3 days. Don't have daily doses of Mercury, so you can limit or prevent buildup in your body.

Definately possible. One thing that can make it harder is that you want to eat as little processed food as possible, and many "meat replacements" are heavily processed.
2 things that can become your best protein sources are unprocessed whole soy beans and lentils. Lentils are higher in protein than other beans, and unprocessed soy beans are a perfect choice. Roasted soy nuts are also a good one.

Fiber is a good thing. It's actually extremely difficult to eat too much. And certain foods may cause you gas, but fiber does not cause gas. Most people actually eat WAY too little fiber. You are not likely to accidentally eat too much.com34x wrote:Lentils are full of Fiber!! So be careful loading up on Lentils. You can easily go overboard on Total Fiber Intake. Also, you can be farting all day long too.Chic Peas are awesome too!
