Question about how often to workout.

Post by Chunkywaffle »

So after a long summer of not working out I started getting back into it...I did a lot of reading and read that you should work out each of your body parts once a week. Lifting teacher says that since I am still young that all i need is 2 days of rest for muscles to rest and grow.

question is...well is he right? or is he just slowing down progress of getting bigger and stronger?

(Also on a different note the top of right shoulder has been bothering me for a few months now and I can't for the life of me figure out what is wrong with it...I am considering going to a doctor to find out because it is really starting to get annoying.)

frequency of training depends on your training experience, where you are now with your body, what you trasin for, how good you eat, how good you recpover...oh there's a million things..generally 3 wt sessions and 2 sprints session will do 90% of the population but it depends on goals

get your shoulder looked at

Please, PLEASE get that checked out man. You shouldn't really work out at all until that gets better. You DON'T want that to get any worse. Trust me. I know.

Agreed. Get it checked out. It could be anything, and might require Cortisone, re-alignment of something, surgery, or other possibilities.
