when i work out should i workout one mussle to its done then another or do a rotation type thing

I would definitely do a rotation. Its called circuit training. That way you will train your muscles more evenly and be far better off.

depending on goals i would say

if looking for some endurance or fat loss during your workouts yes

if looking for strength and / or muscle than maybe not
