best energy supplement??
what would any of you experienced lifter use for energy? redline, jetfuel, etc...?
Nothing. I use Water, and Food Carbs.
Energy drinks are just often full of Simple Carbs and Caffeine. Caffeine Vasoconstricts Bloodvessels, so for Blood pumping during workouts, it's counteractive.
Also the Xanthines can be converted to Uric Acid, by something called Xanthine Hydrogenase, and unless the body uses water to get rid of UC, long term UC creation, can lead to things like Gout, (buildup of UC around the joints).
Bearing in mind UC can be created by the conversion of Nitrogen in Saturate Fats and Proteins.
So basically don't give your Kidneys, and bloodstream, more UC than needs be.
Plus the Caffeine stimulation on the Heart when working out, I think wouldn't be great. Mostly wouldn't be an issue I suspect, save for those with a Heart problem, or people who have medical advise to avoid Caffeine consumption.
As for Guarana, it is a Herb, but also has Caffeine, Guarana being a typical ingredient in many Energy Drinks.
Just stay hydrated throughout, and if needs be, train close to meal like 30-60 minutes after.

Keep hydrated and you'll see the difference.
Trust me, if you cut it completely, you'd get withdrawal symptoms for a few days but that's it. You could iive without it and will have done before, that is unless you were bottlefed on Kenco, and drank it all your life
.
Unless you drank decaff, as then you'd cut the Bloodvessel constriction, Heart stimulation, Xanthine conversion etc etc, but you wouldn't completely get rid of Caffeine, as Caffeine in Decaff is about 1/5 the amount, of a cup of strong regular.

hum I think there's a little mistake there. There are many studies that claim that calcium may disturb magnesium absorption, so you better space calcium from the rest. Just 2 cents tough.littleshelly wrote:Lots of water. Multivitamin, Flax oil, fish oil, salmon oil, calcium, magnesium, zinc. Whey protein mixed in water.

I did not say I took them all at the same time.Christopheel wrote:hum I think there's a little mistake there. Different opinions on coffee. I drink it in the morning and love it. Black and believe there are just as many positives as negatives when it comes to caffeine/coffee.

Totally agree, however we do put things in our body that we can do without. It is a matter of how extreme/disciplined you want to be. I am moderate. I still want to enjoy life and enjoy some of the food/drink pleasures. Some people drink alcohol and we can do without that too. Some eat chocolate and so on. It is just a matter of choice. I am pretty disciplined but have a few bad habits.swanso5 wrote:caffeine is an addiction really...the body doesn't need it like other minerals...everyone can do without it

By the way swanso5 I took your advice and have added sprinting to workout. For the last 3 days. I find that I kind of like it.

Thank you for the advice. I appreciate it. I am in the process of creating a web page on health, fitness and computers. life basically

Hey beast I taking alot of supplements I found nothing better than No-explode from BSN. if your a muscletech kinda guy Nano Vapor is the way to go. Yes staying hydrated is great I am in the Army and I am always on guys about water water water. And with supplements i have to drink more water. The two i said up top they are pre-work out stuff for energy and pump. But I love supplements and ppl give them a bad rep. So i hope this helps in supplements and if ya want another advice on supplements i can assist.
