hypertrophy vs. strength
how much difference is there and what type of workout should you have for each one?

obviously they both different...
strength is the the ability to move heavy loads but then there are numerous variations of strength (explosive strength, starting strength, speed strength etc) but to keep it simple we'll stick with basic strength
hypertrophy is increasing the cross sectional area of your muscles (make bigger)
you can be strong and small...you can strong and big...you can be big and weak...ideally you want the 2nd one there but it depends what you're training for...if you're training to increase your performance for sport etc than above all you want strength over mass but a little mass is always good so long as it doesn't make you slower
all that being said, simply 10 sets of 3 will make you both big and strong at the same time if cal's are adequate to support growth so you don't need a seperate workout for both
personally i train for strength and whatever hypertrophy gains come with it, so be it but i don;t go out of for them
