I don't know if you remember Ben Johnson and his olympic gold for our country, but steroids sure made him run faster. Personally, I think that in pro sports, it should be up to the althlete whether they use them or not, but amatuers should be naturals. Me, I'd like to see a baseball or hockey game with them all on steroids, would be interesting.
Don't know about how they boost the test levels, but I remember female body builders from the 80's, major yucky, and they all had gravely voices like a boy going thru puberty. Apparently, some grew third legs, and I don't mean the kind you walk on.
- i'm not sure if they're illegal for personal use but i don't think your allowed to sell them to others
- basically they increase your recovery rate so you can train harder more often which is how BB's can train 6 times a week for 90mins a day and we can't although some try...you can take roids but without training nothing would happen...you've still gotta do the work
- every pro BB'er would be on them in some capacity
- the steriod user would win, yes with everything else being equal
- i hope you're not thinking of taking them.............

I wasen't really thinking about taking them ... but if it can gives me a chance to overcome fiercest opponant (In boxe for sure)
In fact i'm only looking for the best to optimise muscles gains, I have the workout routine, the diet and the will but I'm still looking if there's a way to break body's limit.
In another topics Swanso you talked about Tribulis ... Do you think that would help me ? Should I give Tribulis a try ?
In regard to Diana ; " Personally, I think that in pro sports, it should be up to the althlete whether they use them or not, but amatuers should be naturals. Me, I'd like to see a baseball or hockey game with them all on steroids, would be interesting. "
Okay yea that would be cool to see this, but for the part where you are saying that amateur like "us" should stick "natural" ... yea maybe but if it's a way to break your genetics barriers ?
- i wouldn't think that they would help much for boxing...it's more technique than brute strength isn't it and/or conditioning??
- i don't think you're anywhere nesar your genitic ceiling yet so there must be room for improvement somewhere
- well i've read good and bad things about it...it's supposably raises testosterone levels which again i'm not sure you really need
- what do you think your weaknesses are? i think that's what we need to address...
Well I say to each their own, I'd never do it in a million years, I like being a girl.
I mean amatuers like olympians, provincials etc. Most of those athletes are young and the competition is not for "pay", although I know they have a lot riding on medal placements. But when it comes to the majors, the pros should be able to do it, a lot already do, just look at Barry Bonds. I say if he can whack the ball for more homers with 'roids, makes it more fun for me.

In fact, the only thing I wanted to know by creating this post was to know if there was a way to get to strengh goal much faster than "ennemy" Because in boxe league we are 12 boxer of the same age ,almost the same experience and we are all competing for the same place ... The only thing that i've change that make the difference in boxe training is introducing weights ... This is only why is was asking what you think/know about steroids. After thinking about all this, since with new workour routine + brand new diet results on strengh and size are AWSOME so conclusion : Stick natural I guess.
weakness you say ? We (Boxers in league) are all equal or almost, so weakness I would say that I need to overcome them in strengh ...
Barry Bonds, Olympic etc. should not allow any kind of roids, fo rsure it's maybe fun too see. Tough, when i watch the Olympic, i want too see the best HUMAN not MUTAN lol ...
i don't thing steroids increase so much...they increase muscle from damaging the muscles more so they rebuild bigger but i'm not sure if stronger...if strength is your weakness than we need to get you stronger simple as that...strength is the baser of everything else athletic so that's what needs to be addressed first...once we get stronger than we want to be able express our strength in the form of explosiveness with plyometric type exercises and medicine ball stuff...all this being said you won't want to increase bodyweight so you'll need to regulate training vol and calories...what are doing training wise now???
Hey Chris, maybe you can advise me, where is a good place for a girl who's never taken a punch to start learning to box.
Steroids affect things like recovery, and protein synthesis, etc etc.
No I don't know a lot about them, but if a load of 150lb women are all doing BB shows on them, at least it's an equal playing field.
You realistically have to be huge, eating at least 4,000 calories to keep most of your gains, and train hard, like 15 sets on Chest hard.
From what I understand, you're talking probably 190lb's natural, pretty muscular weight to start with, if you're say around 5ft10" or less, if your over 6ft, probably more like 200-210lb's natural, but it's a grey area.
Too many kids want it too soon, most don't need it ever, and I used to not condone it, but from being on a site before where some people used it, I now neither endorse nor condone. I might advise if people who aren't right for it ask, I think I'm reasonably good at spottting such people, but I don't advise on use, it's not field of understanding, dosing, fakes etc etc.
I used to say, why the hell use it? Be happy at 17", 18" natural. Even if some 18" 200lb natural guy, was worried about still getting f' with, take up a martial art perhaps.
Now I say let some dude use it, it's not body that might get harmed. If he's caught selling it or possessing it tough luck, the laws the law sorry, but it's true, and if you're not clued up or aren't ready, you shouldn't use.
America, illegal to possess and sell.
Britain, legal to possess, illegal to sell. Most of the likely places to source or legally buy, Mexico, Greece, Far East Asia.
If organisations test they should do it properly, not with people like Puzianowski in WSM, who get DQ'd, then compete in WSM a year later, possibly doing a qualifier as early as 3-6 months post DQ, that's just a piss poor mockery of testing. Either don't test, or ban those DQ'd for a minimum 2 years, possibly life. I don't care who Mariusz is, or his rep, a DQ deserves proper punishment , or don't test and let anybody do it even between events.
Good call on the talent thing. Some guy Squatting 800lb's, won't necessarily cream some other guy Squatting 750, at a BB comp, if his routine is weaker, and he holds a few poses wrongly.
Agreed on the talent issue. But it seems that BB comps are as much about politics as figure skating. Jelena, who is an amazing anatomical speciman, just placed 7th in the Pro National for Figure. Why is beyond me. The first place winner doesn't look any better or worse, her posing isn't better or worse, same with the second place spot. Did the winner have a better hair day?
This is what I detest about figure/BB comps. At least with power lifting, if you hit the highest number, you win. In track, if you sprint the fastest, you win. In body competitions, it seems to be about the judges personal taste. I don't know how guys or girls compete, it would give me an eating disorder.
One more rant about figure, what's with the plastic boobs and high heels? Figure is supposed to be about the natural female body, and I can tell you, ain't nothin natural about 4 inch platforms, rhinestone swimsuits and big fake boobies.
They have amazing physiques, but why pollute that great body with fake adornments?
Sorry, I just had to vent, feeling better now.

Pour ton français, disons que j'entend ton accent anglais d'ici AHAH Mais il est plutot bien !
For the boxe, in case, UniBoxe are sponser and gym ... Since I make a ton of competitions in the USA and in Ontario Montreal etc. They find for me the right tournament and organize everything, I have personal Boxe trainer and they pay the travel ... For sure they get a cut on tournament's gain ... All this to say, if you want idea find a uni boxe club, they are nice and serious !
Tu es gener ? There's no reason for that, you don't need to be shy You'll see that boxe is an awsome sport and you really don't need too worry about anything, try it and you'll see if your interested. I'm only 17 Tough that makes 7 years and a half that i'm boxing, 72 Combats so far 26 in competition, ratio of win : 68/72 I'm aiming for hum, the world champion ? Maybe will never happen but that's goal lol After all that, I always LOVE sport.
If you start and have question about the sport or need any advice about Boxe I can awnser anything
Steroids now ... I know it dosen't affect talent or either will but we can all say that roids can make you overcome your limits way faster than "naturally" ... Tough I must say that I,m not pretty sure about'em
You say it affects recovery rate, but can a normal guy handle a 6 times a week of intensive weights workout of 50 mins for exemple ? I mean it is possible to support your body to intense training with diet or other trick ? Or there's no way and you'll be overtraining and that's all ? ...
6 x 50mins of wts a week??? maybe if your not doing anything else and recovery methods and food are "bodybuilder during contest week" perfect but you don't need that much wt training...you'd need probably 3 sessions max and then a bunch of endurane, GPP type stuff...maybe search Hammer Strength and Hammer Down Endurance (both by Chad Waterbury) which are aimed at MMA fighters but should give you an idea...what does your trainer suggest you do??
