haven't run now for 6 months!!..and want to get back into it, i used to run for 45mins, 4 times per week as well as aerobic and cross training every other day. I'm feeling so tired all the time and lethargic and have no motivation to get back into it. Has anyone got any ideas?...i'm feeling so unfit at the mo and want to get back up to scratch, anyone know the best way for me to do this??
Any help or advice will be so much appreciated
1. Walk quite quickly, for 3 minutes, then jog for 30 seconds, then repeat for a total of 40-45 minutes
2. Do this 5 times a week.
3. Week 2, walk for 2 minutes 50, jog for 40 seconds. Repeat for 40-45 minutes. Do this 5 times a week.
4. Week 3, walk for 2 minutes 40, jog for 50 seconds. Repeat for 40-50 minutes.
By reducing the walking section a bit each week, and increasing jog sections, you should be able to get to a point, where you can jog non-stop with any luck.
Also don't have the 2 days a week you don't do this back to back, make sure there is a 3 or 4 day gap, depending on when you did the last session, as two days straight, will just cause a slight bit of deconditioning, and could affect progress.
