what is the deal with salt?

Post by xinellum »

When I read a lot of these posts i notice many recommendations to avoid salt. What effect does sodium have on your body? and what is a good amount of sodium intake if you are trying to lose fat and gain lean muscle?

Salt is not reccomended beyond 6g a day.

Salt is important for replacing them when you sweat or lose them in other ways, like from Urination, and can help prevent Cramps, but too much Salt can harden the Arteries, and also Salt can lead to Water retention, so basically don't add it to anything, and make sure you don't buy foods that are listed as too salty.

Too much salt can also lead to high blood pressure, strokes, kidney stones. A lot of women complain about bloating/water retnetion, and reducing salt can decrease this.
