Skinny-Fat (New to Exercise)

Post by AdamPID »

Hey guys, so I never really exercise. I don't know why, but I never got into it, and I've always had a fast metabolism, so I've been fine in the stomach area.

Well, I'm now 24, 6'3", and still weight around 150-155lbs. Except now, gut is starting to get pretty flabby and larger. (In opinion, everyone still tells me I'm a twig.) I want it gone, I NEED it gone. I don't like being skinny fat, as I'm extremely self conscious towards it. I used to lift here and there, but never stuck with it for longer than two/three weeks.

So I have some questions, as this will be first time ever hopefully staying with exercise. I live in an apartment and have full access to a gym 24/7. To begin, I'm going to start drinking water, and cutting out all sugary drinks. I already rarely drink soda, but I do drink juice a lot. In addition to this, I'm going to continue eating fish, chicken, steak, etc, but cutting out the candies and junkfood.

I'm planning on hitting the treadmill today, and running a pace of 5.5/6.0MPH until I traverse two miles. I plan on doing this M/T/W/Th/S.

Does this sound like it will begin to eat away at stomach fat, so I can get a flat stomach again? Or should I throw in some ab workouts? Thanks guys.
