Possible, or you could have damaged the Patella Tendon slightly, or maybe got some inflammation or Bursitis of the joint..

I'd get medical consultation, if I was you.

This sounds like a Tendon or Ligament problem.

The Patellar Tendon could be inflammed, or possibly strained.

Or you might have a problem with one the Ligments.

The Knee has 4 main Ligaments.

Anterior Cruciate Ligament, that helps move the Leg Forward, and rotates it.

The Posterior Cruciate Ligment, that stops the Knee bending back too far.

The Lateral Collegiate Ligament, that stabilises the Knee on the outside.

The Medial Cruciate Ligament, that stabilises the Knee on the inside, as they all help to connect the bones in the upper and Lower leg, the Tibia, Fibular and Femur.

I would suggest to you to use a RICE method.

Rest

Ice 15 minutes 3x a day

Compression

Elevation

However there might be more to it than just that, and I think you need to get checked, because a rest and ice protocol might possibly not be enough.

definately a ligament or tendon problem had the same thing happen to me took a blind side hit in rugby an since im a "strong guy" didnt go to the doctors so it never fully healed! So go see a physio if not then ur looking at a life time of 3 minutes of pain each time u get up from sitting down for 5 or so minutes........definately not worth it
