New to forums. Seeking advice

Post by Sezra »

Hi all. Im new here so thought I would introduce myself. names Matt, im 28, from bournemouth, england.

I just wanted some advice really. I currently weigh 16 stone (101 kg) and would like to get rid of beer and man boobs.

Until recently, I had a really bad diet, I was drinking around 6 bottles of wine a week, and eating kebabs and chips 3 or 4 times a week. I started diet last week and weighed 16.5 stone (I've lost half a stone this week!!! I honestly didnt think that was possible).

Basically, i've swapped the wine for water, and completely cut out take away's, bread, butter, crisps etc. and now eat loads of salad. I've started running again as well and generally feel great.

The thing is, I get really hungry, and always go over board with portion sizes.

For breakfast i'll have some cucumber, grapes and some salad.
i'll have a snack around 1030 which is normally a lemon (i know im weird but i cant get enough of them)
for lunch i'll have more salad which includes (all raw) cucumber, cherry tomatoes, onion, spring onion, mushrooms, radishes, lettuce and maybe a boiled egg.
I'll snack again around 1400 and will normally have a few raw mushrooms, some grapes and a stick of celery.
For dinner i'll have pretty much what I had for lunch but include some white fish/2 chicken breasts/quorn chicken pieces. tonight I included a small amount of white rice and peas.
i normally get hungry around 1930-2000 so i'll have another stick of celery

i know i've lost a good amount of weight this week alone, and I suspect thats just by cutting out all the crap. The thing is, I like to eat and lunch and dinner portions are probably big enough for 2 people. i know its only salad but am I over eating by having such large portions?

Hi Matt good to speak to you.

(There's not much protein in here, so I'd suggest things like turkey, ham, chicken, eggs or beef)

i'll have a snack around 1030 which is normally a lemon (i know im weird but i cant get enough of them)

(This is a bit inadequate. The lemon is fine but add some other stuff to it. You can get loads of snack options like, microwave beaked beans, soup and rice dishes, vegetables like pineapple, celery sticks and carrot sticks, fruits including tomato and cucumber, nuts, peanuts, oat granolas, low fat cheese, bread, ham and other meats from a packet, low fat yoghurt, pre-boiled eggs and flax seeds.

Some of these could make up full snacks, some partial, but if you can include lemon if you want)

for lunch i'll have more salad which includes (all raw) cucumber, cherry tomatoes, onion, spring onion, mushrooms, radishes, lettuce and maybe a boiled egg.

(Leave the egg in there for additional protein or you'll only be getting it pretty much from mushroom)

I'll snack again around 1400 and will normally have a few raw mushrooms, some grapes and a stick of celery.

(I'd go with the previous suggestions, but if you like raw mushroom you could include that as well)

For dinner i'll have pretty much what I had for lunch but include some white fish/2 chicken breasts/quorn chicken pieces. tonight I included a small amount of white rice and peas.
i normally get hungry around 1930-2000 so i'll have another stick of celery

(That's fine)
You can afford to add some more calories in because potentially you were too low bar the dinner, so you'll be fine to top up.
