Been working out non-stop since August 2013, I've lost a lot of weight but I still have to lose more! I run every other day and I do pilates on the days I don't run. I've cut down on bread (substitute it with thin rice crackers sometimes) and almost all dairy (sometimes I drink skimmed milk) and refrain from sugar COMPLETELY. Now, I know this is going to be an odd question but... Do you suck your tummy in? For the first time today, I looked at myself in the mirror and I'm like "WOW, stomach's gotten a lot flatter" and I'm all happy but then I realized, I'm so used to sucking tummy in, I never let it relax. brain has convinced me that THAT is actually how I am but it's far from the truth. I've been sucking tummy in since I was a child so body has programmed stomach to contract. Now... here comes the terrifying part... I RELEASED tummy and I was traumatized... yes, I know, it's a little dramatic but that is seriously how I felt. After all these months of working so hard, I feel like I accomplished NOTHING. I looked pregnant with out! I didn't even feel good when I relaxed it, before I knew it, tummy was back in. Even when I'm running or doing pilates, it's been instilled in me to tighten core and suck it in.
I know this is odd, but do all you fit people suck your tummies in? Is this a completely normal thing? Does it restrict anything or is it harmful for the body? Will it affect weight loss?! AAAHHH SO MANY QUESTIONS, I'm going crazy!
