Hi All,
From last 3-4 months, I am doing exercises and cardio with rigor and I have seen some success as well. But I have one problem, in childhood, I fell down from a little heights and all weight were taken by wrists in that fall. Since then, I have some problem in left wrist. But it is nowhere close to any disability, I can do everything in left hand.
Now the problem is that sometimes when I do push-ups, I feel lot of pain, and I just have to quit doing push-ups for 10-12 days at a stretch. I know that doing push-up is a great fat-burners and brings your chest in shape. I want to know the alternatives of push-ups. I do exercises at home using dumbbells, dont have time to go to gym. So please any exercise which I can do using dumbbells or using body-weights, but dont have to put stress on wrist.
Thanks,
Ravi

Re: alternative exercise of Push-ups
To help with the stress on the wrists while doing push ups have you tried a rolled up towel under the palm, perhaps a 2x4 under the palms so the fingers can curl slightly, or perhaps the push up handles you can by in sport sections of stores. These both can change the angle of the wrist and thus reduce the stress and pain you get. You could also try knuckle pushups and finger push ups which also change the stress point in the wrist.
As for exercises, look up dumb bell flies, and dumb bell bench press for a couple of exercises.

You could also look at other options to what Vamp said, like pull-ups and military press.
Re: alternative exercise of Push-ups
How about the plank? It tones the same muscle groups as pushups (arms, shoulders, abs, legs). You could squeeze your chest together while holding the position.
Re: alternative exercise of Push-ups
Planks do the abs yes, but any real impact on anywhere else would be minimal at best.
Re: alternative exercise of Push-ups
Have you tried using your dumbbells as push up handles (or doing your push ups on your fists?).
This will reduce the pressure on your wrists.

The dumbell push-up scenario is a valid one, providing of course the dumbells have hexagonal ends, because if they have rounded ends, it's not such a good choice
