8 weeks of personal training no weight loss

Post by cherrybstone »

I am 42, 5' 11", and weigh 174. I am desperate to lose at least 10 pounds, ideally 15. I have been paying a very expensive personal trainer for 8 weeks with NO weight loss. So upset!!! I train with him 3 days a week with weights and I do interval cardio on own on at least two other days. eating is not perfect but it is better than it was before I had the trainer. I eat pretty much lean proteins, veggies, some fruit and try to severly restrict all the bad stuff. How much muscle could I have gained in 8 weeks. A few pounds? I am totally frustrated and ready to give up.

If you were gaining muscle you could have replaced some of the fat with muscle.

1lb of extra muscle burns an additional 45-50 calories, but if you were carrying any excess water weight, you may also have retained it, if your salt intake was not significantly cut when making dietry changes.

You may also be undereating causing a starvation mode, which means the body would cling onto fat and not let you sacrifice it.

What foods do you eat and what times do you eat them?
