I use a treadmill at home and have now been getting "00" readouts on Polar F7 Heart Rate Monitor, even though I'm moving at a good clip, the chest strap is both taut and well-moistened and has a fresh battery. The wrist receiver/watch seems to be functioning OK, out of the exercise area...
The treadmill is about eight feet from a wireless router--could the router be interfering with the HRM function?
Moving either the router or the treadmill aren't options, as I live in an apartment and the treadmill is both large and
heavy....
Thanks for any feedback.
Interference With Heart Rate Monitor?

I've never heard of the issue you're talking about, so I cannot rule it out, but out of interest, when did this start happening?
Re: Interference With Heart Rate Monitor?
Just the other day...the wireless router had been on for about two weeks, and I just started using the Polar F7 HRM again about four days ago...
The first time, on the treadmill, the F7 readings didn't kick in until after two or three minutes, then recorded the workout OK. But yesterday, I got no readouts at all.
Today, I'll just unplug the router before using the treadmill and see what happens...
Funny, one reviewer noted that the F7 HRM "feature(d) the Polar OwnCode technology. The heart-rate transmission is coded, preventing interference from other training monitors and electronics." (LiveStrong).

Re: Interference With Heart Rate Monitor?
Today I re-moistened the Transmitter belt of the HRM just before going on the treadmill...
The HRM readouts finally kicked in after about 1 1/2 minutes--better late than never, it seems; so, looks like
the wireless router wasn't the main culprit after all...
I think this new Polar SoftStrap (for the transmitter) doesn't hold the initial wetness as well as its predecessor.
