HELP! need advice on weight loss

Post by stormer2k3 »

Hi all, I am a newbie so am sorry if these questions are stupid or already asked.
I have had to have spinal surgery earlier this year and as a result havent been able to train for over a year properly. I was given the all clear to start weights again about 3 weeks ago and its going well.....am now benching 90kg comfortably. problem is that I have developed a whilst I havent been training and it just wont go. I am using a cross trainer for at least an hour a day as well as doing the weights. I am not over weight (95kg) and bmi is 26. I am active ( work in the armed forces) and eat fairly well. I cant do any direct ABS work as the physio has advised to wait until core muscles are stronger and so dont really know how to strip the fat.
I am determined to get a flat stomach but just dont know how to acheive it. I dont wanna take stupid pills that dont work and already take protein and pre work out for the weight training sessions. I rest 2 days a week so I believe I am doing some good but need help or advice on how to go foward from here.
thanks in advance for any help.

If you've only been working out for 3 weeks, give it more time.

what you eat is just as important as how much you are working out. You can't "outwork" a bad diet. Not saying your diet is bad :) ...but there are alot of folks here who can help you fine tune your foods and exercise plan so that you will see results. You might want to list what you eat in a day and at what times so those "in the know" can better help you.
Stay away as much as you can from packaged processed foods, fast foods, & go for lean protein, fresh fruit and veggies and healthy grains (whole wheat). Plan out your meals each day to avoid "impulse" buying or eating. Keep a food journal and exercise journal - it really helps! :D
Congrats on being able to work out again and good luck on your continued success! :D
