6 Months On

Post by LozTaylor »

Hi guys.

I thought I'd post some pictures of me from before I started but also of how I look now. I started with training back in July 2010. I got to a size that I wasn't happy with and I had to do something about it. I've always been a large guy (until now though heh) and felt that getting slim and fit was something I'd never be able to achieve. However, I joined a gym with a buddy and I haven't looked back. I've currently lost about 51lbs. I started at 259lbs and I am now down to 208lbs. I still have another 28 or so lbs to lose (I feel that will be about right) but I'll continue staying fit and putting on muscle. Anyway, here are the photos.

Back just before I started.

Great job! I'm inspired. Every time I see a thread like it gets me excited for when I finally get to make one of own!
How tall are you? Because in the first picture, you either have very short people around you, or you're very tall. Haha.
Keep it up! I hope that someday I can show off as much progress as you've made! :)

Thanks MissJenaKay :). If progress so far is enough to inspire someone else to do the same or to continue on their journey, then I've accomplished more than what I hoped for when I started. It's easy to forget about how much I've changed since I started as I'm so focused on the next goal that I don't give myself enough credit for achievements so far.

As for height, I'm 5' 11". The guy on the left is short, and the guy on the right is actually twin brother, but he's bending over slightly.

As for your goals, keep on keeping on. The best advice I can give is to stick with it and train hard. You'll have your own thread sooner than you think :)

Sans the extra weight you look like your own younger brother! I can't believe the change in as little time as 6 months. Any personal tips to share, or habits that helped you through it?

If been working for a year trying to lose the weight I have to no real success. I've lost about 25 pounds but you can't see any difference and since July when I joined here, I've lost like... nothing. Haha.It kinda sucks. But I'll keep on working.

Also. You have a twin! So cool. :] :]

Thanks Athene :)

As for tips, just the usual stuff that's repeated on here often. Drink water, eat sensibly, do your cardio and remember to rest. I've also been mixing up routine every 2 months or so to try and keep it fresh and interesting. Just stay positive and keep to your plan and you should be good :)

You look great! Congrats on all your hard work. It is inspiring to see. :D
I think you look younger too, and your smile measures your success and speaks louder than any number on a scale could ever do.

Yay : ) Sensible advice = great results. Always nice to see in action. I always feel like there's a trick to it that I'm just not getting... I think it's consistency  All the best to you!

I think this may be problem as well. I'm not consistent at all with working out. Food, I'm pretty good with that. But working out I get weird. Lol.

Hey guys,

Thanks again for all of the great comments. I can't believe it's been over a year since I last posted here. Things have been going well for me since then and I've continued to grow stronger and become fitter. Over the weeked I completed a 10km run that involved climbing steep slopes and wading through deep bogs and water. Before I started this whole journey I would never have been able to even finish anything like that, so I want to thank you guys for the much needed support when I began this whole thing. I hope everyone is well, and that you keep on keeping on.

Here's how I currently look (and I'm feeling good too!), 22 months on.

Nice to see you again man. You've become someone that can provide inspiration to others and that's something to be proud of. It was a hard road in some respects, but you have proven that the effort is definitely worth it.

Good luck to you and keep in touch, because other people here might learn something from your superb example of change :).
