Matts Journal

Post by eastmatt »

Okay so here we go, third time lucky and all, tried many times to get fit but always end up failing, the reson for this was a lack of preperation and understanding of what i need to do.

Diet

Breakfast:

Oats/rasins with low fat milk

Lunch:

Beans/bread or chicken salad

Dinner:

Stir fry veg + sweet potato + grilled salmon or chicken (in a george forman)

I think the most inportant think ive learned is cooking can be fun when you experiment, and also alot nicer then a take out, i posted a photo of one of dinners on facebook and got loads of people saying how nice it looked, and it only took about 12 mins to make.

Image

Yummy :)

And ofcourse LOTS of water.

Snacks:

Mainly fruit (frozen grapes :D) and sometimes another bowl of oats and milk

Exercise

I go to university 3 days a week and work 3 days a week, so on the days i am at university i will then go and do a hour of cardio at the uni gym afterwards. And the days were i have to work i cycle to and from work, takes about 20 mins each way. Also as i work in retail it means im on feet for 9 hours at work so that can only help :)

I then do weights 3-4 times a week focusing on different muscle group. I have a good app on iphone that i can plan all exercises on.

Im just a normal guy who is carrying around a bit of a beer and hope to tone up for the summer :)

Any help or anything you think i could change is more then welcome.

(I'd add more protein in there, like Ham, Chicken, Eggs etc etc)

(Chicken Salad is fine or Beans on Toast as options)

(Good)

(I'd add more caloris in there, like Nuts, Peanuts, Low Fat Cheese, bits of Chicken and Turkey etc.)

Looks like you are off to a great start! I hope we can help you reach your goals.

I have a few questions for you if you don't mind. I would like to better understand what you are doing in the gym so I can give you some suggestions.

Are you doing any interval training or complex training.
What exercises are you currently doing in the gym.
