Hey Boss!

What do you think of Prince Charles being mobbed by those students. What do you think of that law that passed making students pay triple the price for college?

Personally I would love for the government to pay for college, students in america alot of them have quite a bit of debt when they graduate. I think the average is probably around 10 to 20 thousand when they graduate. Just wanted to hear what a Brit had to say about it! :)

Thankfully I have a lot of scholarships, but I will still have about 80k in debt when I graduate.

Scholarships paid for a little over half of tuition.

Charlie boy did get mobbed, but then it's been chaotic here regarding the student fee protests.

Basically the Liberals were opposed to rises, but many have since gone against this since being in the coalition. A basic case of the smaller part of the coalition having to make a few sacrifices to the bigger Conservative part, but the Conservatives made one or two concessions too initially, in order to facilitate the political union.

Even though many don't want one.

However if it means having to put up with a few second rate Liberals cosying up to the conservatives, I'll take that any day over useless confused Labour :P.

Les :: I'm going to DePaul University (You've probably heard of it if you lived in/around the Lincoln Park Area) The total cost of attendance there is 44k.

Boss :: From what I understand from a very close friend of mine that goes to Teesside in Middlesborough, your guys' education costs are actually pretty low. :/ I may be a little ignorant on the issue though.

Also, Boss, are you liberal or conservative?

Conservative voter.

Yes the tuition costs may be not excessive, (I never went to Uni, so I don't exactly know), but people don't like the thought of possibly having to spend another 5 years+ paying off their debts when they leave and getting loans instead of grants.

The last Government if I rememebr correctly introduced fees as if to say that Universities should be more self governing, which was then blamed as some reason for more strain on the health service, a few years later, when some people who wanted to train for medicine, got put off by the added costs and didn't, so the amount of fresh medics going in to the system, to in part offset those leaving either through choice, to foreign countries, death, illness or retirement, went down, as people already were accruing a few thousands of pounds in debts, when when tuition fees didn't exist, because of things like book costs, food, drink etc for a few years, part-time work not included and not all had parents to foot their bill and some still don't.

I see. :]

I'm one of those kids that don't have help from their parents in paying off school loans and whatnot. So I definitely understand that outrage as rising costs when you have no real source of income or anything like that.

Also, I'm ultra liberal. XD

Allison :: I understand that, but I figured I'd share political views

Rebekah :: It's definitely hard. Also, I knew I could never do anything military. So I have to foot everything by myself. Thank goodness I got about half of tuition covered in scholarships.
