stand still in weight

Post by VIPERMAN5506 »

I have been skinny most of life , except when I had children. I am 35 years old and suffer from some health issues that require for me to take meds. I have blamed the meds for weight gain , but doctor says that is not true. I have lowered calories and I am fairly active with three children. I can not seem to make weight go down. Why? What am I doing wrong?

I'm at a bit of a weight stand still as well at the moment. I am trying to lose 25 lbs. I've been going for about a week and a half taking walks in the morning and doing yoga twice a week.
I've been eating about 2 carrots, some cheese or bananas for snacks.
I eat about two eggs and multiple bread pieces for breakfast, lunch is usually a sandwich or wrap or something take out, usually chicken something, and for dinner I eat falaffels or chicken with rice, salad, or bread products.
I have about one slip up every couple of days where i'll have chips, chocolate, or a bad meal such as pizza and beer. I have trouble coping with social life which includes a lot of eating out and drinking and a boyfriend who eats very badly.
I'd love some comments on what i'm eating regularly, is there a problem with the diet style i'm choosing?
Also, how do you all cope with slip ups and how often do they happen? What's a good amount of splurging, I can't seem to strike the balance and weight is going nowhere.

Do you count calories? It's less about what you are eating and more about how much. I suggest you find out what your calorie maintenance is, then consume ~200 less than that and see how it goes (just google calorie intake calculator or something to that effect). Also, do you do any exercise? If not, it would be a good idea to start .

As regards to the slip-ups, don't worry too much about them, it happens, just get back on the horse and try again. They won't affect your weight loss much if you don't let it happen often. A lot of people choose to have a 'cheat' meal (or even a cheat day!) once a week just to keep themselves sane, and it's something to look forward to, just don't binge!

Also, eat more healthy fats and more protein, and drink more water, that'll stop you feeling too hungry all the time :)

And remember, it takes time to see results, don't give up!
