Re: energy drinks
Is it consumed before workouts and / or in conjunction with a meal?
I'd say personally, as long as your Carbohydrate levels are good and you've got enough solid Glycogen reserves to get the job done, you don't have a problem

Re: energy drinks
Too much energy drinks are very bad for you. They are only made for prolonged exercise, or when you are extremely tired. Just like the acid in Coca-Cola can lower your bone density and rot your teeth, energy drinks have a similar effect.
It says on the can that you are only supposed to have a maximum of two a day. This is because a lot of them have gaurana in them, which is WAY more powerful than caffeine.
Not only can you get addicted, but if you stay up for days on something like Red Bull, you can have a heart failure, with a high chance of dying.

Re: energy drinks
Guarana contains Caffeine anyway. Plus Xanthines in Methyxanthine sources such as Caffeine, can convert to Uric Acid and contribute to Gout.
