i've been everywhere and im frustrated

Post by KB. »

Well i hope this will be answered sometime soon :).

Well i'm 17 years old as of right now, but before i get onto problem let me give a little history.

6th grade, plain and simple i was fat.. 5'1 or somewhere around there at 125-130 pounds :o
7th grade fatter
8th grade 160 pounds 5'4/5
8th-9th grade 145 pounds
10th grade 122 pounds 5'8
I did cut diet 9-10 grade but i think with a growth spurt i just rapidly lost, i mean i was just losing a ton. But with that i was left with little muscle and flab.
10th grade i did track and it slimmed stomach down a bit but not much improvement.
11th grade i believe skin started to tighten up in this year otherwise i didn't see much.(did tennis this year)
12th grade year im accepted to college and ready to get this body in shape.
Today i am 5' 11 ~163
Mainly i've noticed a little more flab coming onto me and i don't understand chest is just annoying me i mean its just flabby but its all over the place sometimes it looks like no flab at all othertimes it seems to protrude more i look pretty in shape when im in clothing but otherwise i would never take off shirt and i havent felt comfortable with myself for the past 7 years.

If anyone can help please just help me i want to get rid of this flab and replace it with lean muscle, i don't want to bulk up and get big i want to maintain a slim figure with muscle and little fat.

I've been looking into jump roping > running because running bores me.
I could really use a diet that a school kid can follow.
And i would like to get down to 145 Healthily within 2-4 months if possible if not at least before may :D
PLEASE HELP

Hello KB,

Jump rope is actually a good cardio exercise, provided you do it for at least 10 min, without stopping. 10 mins of jump rope equates to almost 3 miles of running, if you can keep it up. If running is boring you spice it up by doing high intensity interval training or (HIIT). This exercise burns a lot of fat as well as joining a cycling class, which could burn at least 600 calories per class! You can also do the most simplest of things like taking a brisk walk or hiking. Any cardio will do since it sounds like you're not obese (let me know if I'm wrong)...you just have some fat in unwanted areas.

This is where weightlifting comes in. Instead of your typical lift, do circuit training. You can actually skip cardio all together and just do this since it also involves some cardio, provided you keep your heart rate up constantly. You're also adding muscle and burning fat with this type of exercise.

Lastly, of course you'll need to clean up your diet. If you find yourself eating too much fast food, greasy and deep fried food, and skimp on veggies and fruits, you need to change that. Ensure you're also eating frequently, but with controlled portions. Know how many calories you need to ingest daily with your activity level, because if not, you may not actually be burning fat. You may actually be storing more.

Hope this helps
