I'm going to modify diet a bit. It's been suggested that I might be highly gluten sensitive. I'd like to know what you guys think of this.
I'd like to modify to a high protien/gluten free diet. Using whey protien shakes.
Thoughts?

Why has this been suggested? Doctor? Someone else trying to care, I've hard this / that blah blah? Someone else telling you how they felt in the past, that sounds like how you feel?
You see things like Barley contain Antioxidents like Apigenin and Whole-grains contain Beta-glucan, great for lowering Cholesterol, so reducing sources and types, may adversely impact on your Cholesterol lowering benefits and antioxident potential, increasing things like heart attack risk and aging processes from free radical activity.
It wouldn't be a major issue, I mean you wouldn't end up 45, with serious palpitations and a face like a 65 year old and you could compensate for such things anyway, with increased or new types of other dietary sources, but if there's no need to cut certain things out then why do it, when you have perfectly acceptable dietary sources.
The only thing then if it's not a medical reason, is through personal choice.

I appreciate what you're saying, though I'm just curious as to the source of her suggestions. If the source of the suggestions is not a medical person, then she may be giving things up she might like, that she doesn't have to.
Ultimately of course, if she has the choice to continue to eat such things or not, then obviously it's not a problem if she decides not to anyway

Thanks guys for your input. The suggestion actually came from husband. He's been paying attention to what I eat in relationship to how I feel. He says after I've eaten gluten containing foods that I tend to feel poorly and suggested I cut that out for a while just to see if I'm sensitive.

Fair enough
. I would support his idea and suggest you implement Gluten free for at least 2 weeks, but no more than 4. I doubt you'd discover much beyond the 4 week mark. Anything you'd learn from this, would probably be pretty much discovered within the 4 weeks at most.

Thanks. I figured that it wouldn't hurt to just try doing without it for a little while to see how I felt. I started yesterday and will take your advise and go 4 weeks and see if I feel any different. I also got back on the workout yesterday. Two weeks is way too long to go without it.

I have made it two days so far with removing gluten. I've also started eating more fresh fruit in it's place. As always, biggest hurdle is drinking all the water I need. I'm aware of it and am working on that also.
