I just changed routine to 3 days of moderate lifting and 40-60 minutes of brisk walking on the treadmill on non lifting days. Would I hurt muscle gains by doing cardio right after I lift?
Thanks in advance for any and all input.

Re: Weights and cardio
Hello salmonchef,
Yes and no.
First I think it's better you do cardio after your workout session. So you got that down. However, you need to ensure you're lifting intensely too. Here's why...
When you lift first (especially intensely), you deplete your carbohydrate stores first (provided you ate some prior to exercise). Therefore, when you do the cardio next, your body will begin to tap into your fat stores. Notice I say "begin". You'll have to continually do this so that your metabolism increases and your fat stores will continue to burn.
Just ensure you portion your meals, eat enough on your "active days" and you'll do fine. If you don't eat enough you'll lower your metabolism and your body will rely on your muscles for energy. Of course this will hinder muscle growth and fat loss.
Hope this helps
