I know i have barely been around here - too busy even tho job was over...i always get myself into other jobs. 1) freelancing 2) fitness project!
What I am doing is working with an non-prof org. and we're putting together a project to fight obesity in the uae, a mall program for 8-10 weeks.Te project is pretty much...mine. And i have to do the whole bit of finding sponsors, dealing with the technicalites...i have a lot of ideas and stuff..but i am not sure what would suit 6-12 years old best of exercises in a public area/mall..esp gym equipments...any suggestions??

6-12 year olds, would probably benefit from group activities.
However you'd be better perhaps splitting them into two groups. 6-9 and 10-12. Some 12 year olds can be quite tall and you don't want a 12 year old boy of 5 ft 6, doing something in a group with a 6 year old girl, whos 2ft smaller, incase it results in injury risk.
You could play the game, where kids put a rubber band hanging out of the back of their trousers and one kid tries to snatch a band. If they do, that kid then becomes a snatcher. The last one with an unsnatched band wins.
Why not use fun games, where a kid is on their palms of their hands and feet and tries to run in a straight line.
Or pretend everyone is a crab and get them to run sideways a few times, to see who wins.
Maybe these sort of things might work

Re: Fitness mission
thanks boss man, i do have some group activites ideas prob is we dont have a fitness instrcutor just yet...its all idead and i need to put a proposl together..i am no fit to put a program together...and we wont get any sponsors until the presentation is up...so i need to figure stuff out...we do want some sort of "gym" going on not just group activites..i was thinking maybe things like a kids bunching bag , and if possible those kids bench presses. i dunno what else would suit kids...also we'll have a wii game (or hope), lik air boxing, or tennis...etc...to keep them engaged..still not sure what "equipment would be best"
Re: Fitness mission
Stop the promotion of junk food and promote healthy food. I have been to the UAE and had a pretty time finding some healthy stuff to eat. On the other hand, burgers and pizzas were available at every corner
Re: Fitness mission
I am aware of that, but that's not in hands. I'm not UAE itself to do such thing. I do realize we have a lot of junk food here - but so is anywhere else in the world. It's really the person's mentality on whether they succumb to those foods or find other alternatives. you know?
Re: Fitness mission
Well I meant educating people.
