Hey im Greg and i think that i have been over-working out because i never knew rest was so important.
I think that i stopped improving because of new physical responsibilities at work.
Recently Ive been hired, and i stock at a grocery store Tuesday - Thursday + Saturday
I want to incorporate Push ups and Chin ups the most without over training.
How can i improve push ups ( stuck at around 70-80 ) and chin ups ( around 10-13 ) the most without over-doing it
Also
What would be the best workout days for me, and which would be the best resting days for me?
P.S. around 1-3 times a week i play racquetball in addition to grocery store days.
I need help making a workout routine

Do you actually have access to weights or a Gym, as just doing push-ups and Chins is very limiting, especially for Core and lower body.
Re: I need help making a workout routine
No, i dont have access to weights, nor do i want to.
I just want someone to tell me what days i should do push ups and chin ups, and which days to rest
Keep in mind i have physical work tuesday - thursday and saturday,
and i occasionally play raquetball a few times a week.

Well in that case then, double up the Chins and Push-ups and do them every other day.
I'd suggest Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Do the Push-ups first they work Chest. Doing Chins first will potentially fatigue stabilisers and synergisers, possibly affecting the Push-ups.

Re: I need help making a workout routine
When I was doing push-ups more regularly I would do them every night. I knew I could easily do thirty a night but I would try to add at least five more then when I last did them. Just add more to your push-ups maybe try adding dumbells (light weights perhaps would be good since you don't want to do anything heavy). I started doing that just recently and it adds a lot, for me at least, to push-ups. I just put the dumbells in hands and instead of having hands on the floor they've got the dumbells. It makes it more challenging and I sooo love how shoulder muscles feel when I do that. Hmm I need to get back into that since I miss the feeling.Boss Man wrote:Well in that case then, double up the Chins and Push-ups and do them every other day.
