Calorie Calculators

Post by Athene »

I'm trying to figure out why there is such a disparity between the Fit Tracker Profile numbers and the Shape Fit Calorie Intake Calculator numbers, and it's making me nervous because on profile the numbers are way too low. The info is for a 158 lbs, 5'8", 25 year old, female. What do you guys think of this?

Shape Fit
2078 maintenance, 1663 fat loss, 1247 extreme fat loss.

Fit Tracker
1328 maintenance, 828 fat loss.

The Fit Tracker numbers are making nutritional plan really sparse..... 104 grams of carbs, 62 grams of protein, and 18 grams of fat, which does not look like enough food to me.

For fat loss I'd go for the calories of around 2,078 to be honest, if you train hard on the weights and add some Cardio, when you're finally able to, you'll get a positive body composition change almost certainly.

You could also if you're eating 6 times day, limit yourself to 30g Carbs max per meal, (720 calories a day) and then have the same calories from Protein, then the rest from fat which is 70g a day.

Try something like that. Carbs will be not too high, so any energy deficeit will be supplied by some of the Fat.

If this is a bit difficult, increase Carbs by roughly 10g per meal and then reduce Fat by around 4-5g per meal.

Thanks, I have never read about anything like the carb and fat staggering method before, I am going to work something out this weekend. The 6 meals per day thing I am used to with training, but now that I can't exercise much or even walk properly with this boot-cast, I really cut the meals, so I'm eating more like 4 times per day and keeping the calories low.

And hey - did you numbers? I just logged on and the maintenance calories now read 2078 instead of 1328, with daily goal calories of 1884 instead of 828 - I am so happy! I was beginning to feel weak from eating so little the last two days. I'm going to go eat something RIGHT NOW!

I didn't it no, I wouldn't really know how. I did try replicating the numbers with your stats on the calculator and they came out similar, but not with Fittracker numbers, so tech must have done that.
