Want to have workout routine reviewed

Post by Karim.W »

Hi,

I'm new here. Have been working out on and off but never took it seriously. This year I want to stick to it and have the body I've always wanted. Don't want to get huge. Just want a well define, muscular physique.

I'm 31, height: 5'7", weight: 134 lbs and body fat is around 13%. goal is to bring it down to 10% and have six pack abs. Want to have workout routine reviewed. Would appreciate suggestions and pointers.

routine: Sprint/run/jog around 5 miles; 3 sets of chin ups (7/8 reps each); 5 sets of push ups (20 reps); 2 sets of crunches (25/30 reps); 2 sets of reverse crunches (25 reps); 2 sets of bicycle crunches; one set of flat chest presses with dumbbells (10 reps); 2 sets of lateral raises with dumbbells (9/10 reps); 3 sets of concentration curls (7/8 reps); 2 sets of hammer curls (8/9 reps); 2 sets of half squats with dumbbells (10 reps).

I've been doing this 3 times a week for about a month. Starting from last week I've added 2 more days of just running/jogging (5 miles) in between those 3 days.

Is it a decent routine for goal?

Thanks

Karim

I do. as I mentioned in workout routine: sprint/running 3 times a week.

1st meal of the day is oatmeal porridge (with a tall glass of whole milk), a hard boiled egg, 7/9 almonds. for supper I usually have steamed rice, lightly cooked chicken or fish, some veggies and another hard boiled egg. in between, I have 2 small meals of fruits and almonds (around 15).
