How long should I work out?

Post by sscholl »

Hi,
I am 47 yrs old and weigh 170 lbs. goal is to get to 130 lbs. I used the ab lounger for exercise since all extra weight is in stomache. How long should I workout each day using the ab lounger?

Yeah, I agree. You need to do full body resistance exercises about 2-3 times a week for 30 minutes and 30 minutes of interval cardio also 2-3 times a week. Spot reducing is impossible and you won't burn enough calories doing the ab roller to see a difference. Remember diet is at least 70% of weight loss.

Full body workout with dumbells 3x a week. 20 minutes is good. Take this from an older guy.

Hello Sscholl, Hope you're having a great day. Wanted to throw in something for you. To be honest, you can actually workout for just about as long as you want to, especially if weight loss is your goal. Just so long as you don't over do it and you feel good afterward. You don't want to do too much too fast as that can backfire on you real fast. But, once you've started and have a routine and your body is used to it, feel free to add more time. 9 out of 10 times, people fail to make any real progress because they simply don't do enough both in the exercise and diet department. The legendary Jack Lalanne used to recommend doing one hour of exercise EVERY day. He still does recommend it... and, he still DOES it! He's well into his 90's and still going on strong. Learn from Jack LaLanne. You probably aren't going to exercise too much... just don't try doing much more than 30 mins or 1 hour a day until your body had adequate time to adapt, such as a month or two. Build up slowly and take it easy at first, but don't baby yourself because you're not old and dead until you stop working out.

God bless and good luck, here's to another 73 years of great health!
