There are a lot of this kind of nutritional staff that claim to burn fat. even help people get in shape without any exercise or changes in diet at all. BUT do they really work?
i heard stories from people that say they lost weight because of those products while others claim that they tried all sort of products and never lose weight, maybe at least 1-2 kg and gain them right back?
Any one knows if they have significant impact on losing weight or they are just for marketing.
straight and honest answers or any clear-cut opinion would be pretty much appreciated

Seems to me that if these things worked there wouldn't be so many overweight people walking around. Everybody's always looking for a magic pill or potion to help them lose weight. The BEST method for fat loss is a simple combination of regular exercise and a healthy diet.kiang wrote:There are a lot of this kind of nutritional staff that claim to burn fat. even help people get in shape without any exercise or changes in diet at all. Metasbolic enhancers are NOT, I repeat NOT worth a bean.
As discussed, anything they might do for Fat loss, mostly reverses itself when you stop using them, in the majority of cases. Muscle and Bone loss won't however, unless you do other things to encourage the recovery process.
Herbal ones are anything between poor and crap.
Chemical ones can be downright dangerous. Check out Medicinenet and look up the controversy surrounding Hydroxycut related deaths.

Thank you for very clear answer. It blew mind because no one ever stand up and tell me. i am finally sure about it now.
I am qualified to win a weight loss tournament through a sponsor of these products. On the stage, they will ask me if their product help me to lose fat and i don't want to lie audience into buying. but I want to hurt the sponsor too if i say like these products don't work!
If not for major change in lifestyle, I would not lose so much weight 32 kg in 6 months.
on average 2 hr of exercise per day and very little flour. No junk food nor soda pop at all. it comes with a huge price.
and the inspiration came from this website - success story i did not believe it's possible until i see people losing like 70-80 kg.

You don't need 2hrs a day for weight loss. Even if you tagged about 30 minutes Cardio onto the back of a weights workout, if you were doing TBT work, you'd be doing around 90-100 minutes 3x a week.
Otherwise you could do at most 1hr of Cardio say 2x a week, alternate days to weights, 3 days training, 1 off, 2 on, 1 off, so you don't have the two off days back to back.
