So I was doing a little reading, and I've across the fact when your body has LESS water it shows your % to be less than when it has more water?
Can someone clarify this for me?
I often take mine in the morning before I've eaten anything - but sometimes I do have a small sip of water (50ml) sort of thing.
Should I be water-full when I do next reading or not?
After a workout or before a workout??
I am curious.
Best time to measure ?

Same as when you weight yourself, the best time is in the morning before you eat or drink anything. Ideally you should go to the bathroom first then take the test. If you do it after a workout you will measure fatter. I have tried this with clients and found up to 3% difference due to muscle glycogen decrease and associated water loss.

Does having a small sip of water makes a difference as well? I usually fele bery thirsty (we live in a really hot country) so not to drink water in 30 mins after I've woken up is hard.
I usually have like 50ml or something.

You're being measured by bioelectrical impedance aren't you? For this test it is actually important that you are hydrated when you are tested as being dehydrated could actually measure you with a higher . I would definitely drink some water before the test to ensure that you're not dehydrated.
Re: Best time to measure ?
Having water in your system, when you weight first thing isn't a big issue, especially as you'll be getting pretty much a similar reading anyway, as long as you've visited the potty first, becasue you won't have any retained waste and no food first thing, so adding a modicum of water weight in the stomach to a reading is negligable really and will produce similar readings anyway each time, because some of the factors that could skew a reading, are being taken out of the equation.

Aha! I'd make sure I am hydrated next time I go for a testing. How much water should I drink though? I mean would it show a difference in percentage or weight wise? Although percentage is failry high 28%, fat weight is 14.9 kgs which is in the normal range. They explained the % is the ratio between fat:muscle, is that true? I honestly find ith ard to trust the people at the gym...u guys are smarter and know your stuff.

Hey,
The only way you should measure your progress is the way you always have.
If you havn't yet, pick one day to measure your progress and write down your exact conditions... What time it is, where you measured, what you ate before, what you drank... everything...
Then repeat your next scheduled time you measure your progress following the same exact conditions.
Doing it in the morning before you do anything is the easiest way to do it, so i would recommend you do it that time. If you can't it doesnt mater as long as your in the same exact conditions as last time
