Re: Staying Motivated
I agree with Bonne - alcohol is definitely a depressant. I went through several years where I drank pretty heavily because it is what everyone was doing. I found myself unhappy A LOT! I suffer from depression and it just made it worse. Now I drink maybe 3 times a year at the most and I feel so much better - and the couple of times I do drink I find myself feeling bad about myself.

Re: Staying Motivated
went to urgent care saturday. They told me I had a sprain knee, and I never gave it a true chance to heal so it was getting swollen, sore, and had fluid build up.
I am now taking Naproxin, elevating leg, and resting. Been two days.
Today I plan to do a Aqua Fit Class (1hour) at 6pm.
Tomorrow I plan to do Mat palates (just to try it out and see what I "CAN" do. then Yoga in the evening
Wed. Aqua Fit Class (1hour)
Thurs. Palates/Yoga
Fri. Aqua Fit Class (1hour)
Sat. Yoga
Sun. Yoga
This should increase endurance, Improve overall Health, and have low impact on Knee but Keep me going. The Doctor recommended I NOT WORKOUT. I can't "not" workout.
On another Note that I'm not prepared to go into very much. wedding was canceled till further notice. Could be another two years before we try again. As you could imagine this has made me very down. Could use some motivation this week.

Re: Staying Motivated
I'm sorry to see this, but the fact is you still need to be looking after yourself for yours and your daughters sake, no matter whether you are or are not getting married.
Don't let this setback hinder your progress. I know there's still an issue with the Knee, but whatever you can do exercise wise, is a good thing and it's great to see you're exercising some caution on this, by not just being silly regarding activity levels.
In the long-term you and your partner are clearly very close, because you were planning to get married, so don't let this problem hinder the future of you and he and if the reason for this problem is mostly relating to him or his side of the family, (I'm not asking, it's your right to say not mine to ask), then you need to make sure he knows that this won't change what you and he have, nor should he see his connection to this derailed marriage as reason to self doubt or put strain on the relationship.
You clearly have something good together, so you both need to be strong, for your daughter, but also for the both of you, because if marriage isn't meant to be right now, that's not an indication it will never be, but if the both of you stick closely together and try your best to create a harmonius three person existance, then you will have your moment to remember very soon.
You are quitre a beautiful person on the inside and you DO have a good heart, so keep letting those things bind and keep strong what you have.
I know the world is hard and right know it seems hard because you have this and the Knee problem too and you wouldn't be blamed for thinking why am I in this situation? Why is this happening to me? I don't deserve this, which is true, but it won't solve anything, nor will it take away any hurting you might feel right now.
You both need to keep fighting for what you have and remembering what it is worth. You are intelligent not to do anything stupid, or start behaving in a way that could jeopardise most of what you have and deserve in your life.
You are a wonderful your Lady, so don't let anything right now spoil that or get in the way of the things you still need to do in your life and the things you still want to achieve, for yourself, that don't rely on you being Mrs Xyz, like losing weight, being happier, becoming an even better rolemodel to your daughter.
These things are here to test you, but if you truly believe in your life right now and every good thing in it, then your moment will come eventually to be Mrs Xyz, but right now that moment isn't here, so you need to be strong, focus on you relationship as it is, focus on your health and wellbeing and giving your daughter the Mother she needs and you CAN be okay.
We are here for you and I am here for you okay
. If it gets a little too much sometimes, message me for a one to one in confidence like before and we'll work together to get you through a few frustrating moments / days.
Keep on being human and keep on being you. I understand I really do, that life can feel like a kick in the teeth sometimes, especially when other people in life get it all their way, when some undoubtedly don't deserve it.
Life's not fair like that, but if you let your relationship suffer, either of you, it will hurt more knowing you self inflicted damage on a good thing.
Keep your chin up, keep sticking that thumb in the air and keep smiling okay. You are such a lovely ray of sunshine when you want to be misses, so keep shining okay. I know it's a long road to being thinner and building a long-lasting, sustainable relationship / domestic unit, but for all the trying you've done and all the being there for your daughter you've done, I'M REALLY PROUD OF YOU and I want you to have a happy life and a good life, because you DO deserve that.
So don't let anything get in the way of it all okay and don't hesitate to PM me anytime about anything. support and understanding will be here unconditionally for you okay
.
GOOD LUCK and big, big smiles now yeah and keep making sure you don't over do it with that Knee

Re: Staying Motivated
Today I was at neighbors house (not much of a friend, but that's another story).
She asked me how the gym was going and I said "Great!! It's about the only thing that motivates me now-a-days. I got a Trainer!"
she says "Wow you are really taking this seriously" And of course that makes me feel good when other people acknowledge achievements and so on.
Yes! I did get a trainer, her name is Cassie and I got a little booklet to keep track of workouts. I was supposed to read the back of booklet for food recommendations blah blah blah. I'll read it while i'm on the bike or something.
I will tell you what though. I havn't read shit in days. eyes are tired and body is sluggish. I feel so dam useless lately. It could be the Naproxin i'm taking for knee.
Anyway. mood is Grumpy! I'm heading out to the gym in a few minutes. and Again, Thank you all for your words and support. I have not had a chance to read boss mans last post but I will when i get back, hopefully I will feel refreshed and stuff.
Trainers are a Rip off but its worth it I guess!!

Re: Staying Motivated
They are not a rip off, when they teach you how NOT to injure yourself. These injuries could last & hamper your life for the next 40-60 years.I wish I had procured one from the start myself, have a good work out

Re: Staying Motivated
Trainers can be very good, but they come with provisos.
1. Do they treat you like a person or a cash machine?
2. Do they have accreditation from a reputable company?
3. Do they charge equitably, or do they charge overinflated prices? Do their charges stack up in relation to other peoples.
These are some if not THE key considerations when trying to get a trainer.

I agree it sounds pricey, which is why I said it was a rip off. trainer is nice but i have to not TALK so dam much during our workouts, i'm wasting time and not using it wisely.
Today I feel bloated, its almost that time. I get to feel way fat for about a week and a half, THIS BLOWS literally.
Thank you Boss man for all of your kind words, and you know that I will message you anytime I need to. Tonight i have to pick up Man from the airport at 12am. Can't wait to see him.

Re: Staying Motivated
thanks Les. You are very inspiring. And it isn't terrible to do 10 minutes. You are right about that. I'm pretty happy I did some at all. Trainer would like to see me doing 40 - 45 minutes, in between strength training days. I can barely get to 15 min. I'm keeping at it though, i'm not quiting.
Today I am putting leg up, Icing it, Taking naproxin and staying off of it. hope is to have it all healed up by tomorrow for Second Training Session with Cassie.

Re: Staying Motivated
Don't look at the things you're not ready to do, as things you clearly can't do and are therefore a failure on your part, look at them as something you will be able to do given time and keep focusing on all the little positives.
It's not all about weight, it's about Bone health, Cholesterol, Blood pressure, reduced risk of serious illnesses, so it's easy to forget those things as well, when you can't see them.
The main thing is I want you to keep remembering why you're doing this. For your own long-term health and for the education your daughter will get from having a healty, positive, inspiring Mother.
You certainly have all the attitude and personality and heart you need to succeed, and teach your daughter what being an adult, a human being and a Lady really is, so when you're able to be a good physical teacher as well, by having a body and lifestyle she can aspire to and learn from, that's a big, big plus for you and her.
So stay positive and don't give yourself a hard time for slip-ups and being human. Learn from slip-ups where possible and resolve to get back on track as quickly as possible.
You're doing GREAT misses and I'M REALLY PROUD OF YOU.

Re: Staying Motivated
July 11, 2010 I was offered a membership for Training sessions at this facility. the offer was for 120 dollars for 4 30 minute sessions. Then after that I would pay monthly for the sessions. I agreed to the 120 for one month worth of training. I walked away with no paperwork, receipt, and without signing a contract of any kind.
After signing the digital pad for the 120 dollars agreed upon I left the facility. Upon going home I checked account and found that a total of 294 dollars was taken from account, I assumed perhaps he had taken a First and Last out of account, I was very angry about not being told but accepted it as how it is.
July 12 was first training session. I wanted to discuss this matter of the 294 dollars with the man (George) but he was unavailable.
July 14 I tried again to contact George still thinking I was paying for two months of Training and not one. George had left early that day and was again unavailable.
July 17 George was not working or was unavailable
July 19 (Today) I started to accept predicament. And thought I would discuss it with him the very next time he was available. During workout I was approached by one of the employees about a problem with account. Because I had signed up with a inactive account they had trouble billing account with out knowledge. I informed him that it was inactive and taht I would pay dues when they are due with Cash. He said that was a big problem and that I needed to correct it or start paying bills 10 days in advance. I said i've already given you people over 500 dollars over the last month and you guys are hounding me for more so soon. he said the 294 dollars was only for fees and one month of training and that it didn't apply to account directly.
I said "Hold the Phone!" I was under the impression 294 which should have only been 120 plus tax was for two months of training. He said that was not the case.
I attempted to resolve the issue but noone could help me. When I sat down with Cassie she printed out a Contract that I "signed" (electronic signiture, the same one I thought I was signing for the 120 dollars, I was never informed otherwise). This contract states at 99 dollar Enrollment Fee, 50 dollar processing Fee,25.56 Tax. plus the 120 for the training for a Grand total of $294.56. I informed them that If i had seen that total when I was at the desk sitting with george I would have reversed decision.
Being shown a contract that they superimposed signature on A whole 6 days AFTER the reversal date was unfair and made me feel taken advantage of and bullied.
Upon trying to resolve the issue and several un-returned phone calls later I have decided that the only thing I can do is report the issue and reverse the charges made to account personally. I intend to Cancel membership. I would like some advice and criticism on this and the best possible conclusion is the return of the fees charged to me and a release from the aforementioned Contract.

Re: Staying Motivated
the above is a letter I made for the BBB, Today I had to pick up a document to cancel membership with Lafitness. This has been a dreadful experience that I hope ends very soon. I don't want anyone to think that I have given up on working out. That is simply not the case. I refuse to work out at a place or give money to a company that chooses to treat their members like dollar signs and not people, I am a single mother with no income and rely's on her BF and childsupport to help take care of her daughter.
Makes me feel like crap. Anyway. I have disputed the charges made to card and started an investigation with both bank and the Lafitness Corporate office. I do think they both will find store legit and reverse the contract and thus clearing name so that i may start anew somewhere else. the community center has 20$ a mo. memberships NO CONTRACT.
I should have gone there in the first place but something about having someone to go with really inspired me. then having all those nice "sales people" giving me good thoughts and motivation to keep it up really gave me some drive.
I have you guys and really have been taking you all for granted. You guys give me motivation and support with out a checkbook or debit card and I just really want to say thank you.
I am going camping this weekend and will get lots of exercise and sun and play. So not working out at the gym isn't all that big of a deal right at this moment.
