You guys are so sweet! It means so much to have all the positive support . :D I appreciate it more than you know. And I hope you all know that I am here for you, too, anytime you need an encouraging word, or advice, or just need to vent....okay?, GROUP HUG!! :D

Well, every possible square inch of legs is sore today! But its a good sore, if you know what I mean. It reminds me that I gave 110% effort yesterday, and pushed body a little harder, went past "comfort zone" and had a great race because of it. So I'll happily endure a few days of sore legs, if that's what it takes. :D

Back to work tomorrow tho', continuing with HIIT training, and strength training. I am going to really crack down on diet, make more adjustments, get more disciplined about food choices.
I want to break 160 lbs. before then end of November!!

1st place in your age group eh?

You can be really proud of yourself, and we're really proud of you as well. You are a pretty amazing person, and you will always have peoples support, encouragement and understanding, because you come here and do so much for others, and you are someone with a really beautiful personality, so these kind of things that you worked so hard for, are richly deserved.

CONGRATS to you and GOOD LUCK for the coming race. I am confident you could do the same thing again. Hope you're smiling that truly illuminating smile, because you deserve it. It might not be a massive distance, or a much more difficult transitional thing like a Tri-athlon, but it's certainly something many wouldn't do. Heck I wouldn't try it, because it's not thing, and I don't think I'd want to have to cope, with the added training required, so you do deserve kudos for this anyway, especially coming first in your age group.

You have made me smile inside, which is not something a lot of people do, so that definitely ranks highly for me and in your own way, you're helping to define what the modern female can be, so you can be proud of that too :).

Thank you Boss Man for your kind words and support. :D I'm smiling alot these days, and you guys are a big part of helping me do that :D In all the years I have ran races, triathlons, etc. I have never had the outpouring of support, encouragement and friendship that surrounds me now, with being a part of this community of like minded individuals. It is a powerful motivator and an essential tool in ongoing quest for becoming the healthiest and strongest I can be, and for achieving the goals I set for myself. Life, for me, is a series of challenges and goal setting. It's what keeps me going. Always having eyes set forward, looking ahead at the next challenge. I refuse to end up a middle-aged tired, feeling old, couch potato - not able or willing to do anything meaningful with life. What kind of example is that for son? I can't change the fact that I will grow older, but I can control the way I do it. :D

Thanks Sandygirl! You aren't doing such a bad job urself, girlfriend! You look awesome!
I know this has been said many times in many ways...but I can attest to the fact that it really is never too late to improve your life, give up old habits that just hold you back, and change your life.
Brent said it best in another post I read ...Life is about choices. That is SO true! I have been down many roads in life, some not so great, faced many obstacles (some of own doing :( ) and "chose" to overcome them all. It didn't happen overnight, and it is not always an easy thing - in fact alot of the time it is "3 steps forward, 2 steps back", but I just have to keep on, keepin' on (thanks Oscar...I'm gonna make that new saying!)
Well, I didn't mean to make this such a long post...but I just feel so strongly about helping others to see that they are not alone, change can happen...TODAY! :D

Yes, Cassie speaks for me, and no doubt everyone.

People like you are an honest, genuine example, of what effort does. It's not faked with surgeries, products, expensive treatments, like the hoi paloi might use, it's good honest genuine effort and hard work, so the results are more genuine and deserved.

Rolemodels are borne out of situations like yours. You're such a person and always will be.

This is a record of great things past, present and future. Your comments about controlling the way you mature are very apt and you deserve to progress with immense pride in yourself. only regret here is, that we couldn't have the likes of you around here sooner, but we're very appreciative of it, and we are very glad to be here for you.

It says a lot about us, that someone like you continued to want us in your life :).

Your continued actions and kind words here, are a valuable compliment to the rest of us and the site itself.

Want you? I NEED you guys in life! You are all like workout pen pals! I may never get to meet any of you in person, but I value the connection we share here, and the friendships that come from it. :D

I'm home today (son is sick with sinus drainage and the blahs - :( ) so I tried a new twist on an old favorite for lunch today...most of you may have had "salmon patties" before, but I grew up having "tuna patties". I luvs me some tuna patties! So I wanted to make some - but try to keep it healthy so here is the recipe I came up with:

1 can of solid white albacore tuna
1 egg
1/4 cup of Whole Wheat Flour
1/8 cup of diced green onion (this is an estimate - I just eye-balled it  )
1/8 cup of green B. pepper

Mix together. Then in a skillet, pour just enough EVOO to coat the bottom. Spoon the tuna patties (I shape them into approx. 2" round patties) and cook in medium heated skillet - brown both sides til golden brown. Salt & pepper - enjoy! I ate mine with some ketchup. son even liked them - even with the "green things" in them!) ha!
You could really add alot more veggies to the mix. I want to try it with diced zucchini and carrot, maybe even a little jalapeno if I'm (borrowing a "Les" term here ->) feelin' saucy!
Or even some cauliflower or broccoli, call them the Brentyboy Patties - eh Brent?!!
