Hey everyone! I kind of disappeared for awhile. I let life get in way and lost control :( But I am in a much better place now mentally and I am ready to get back on track. I haven't stepped on a scale in a really long time so tomorrow morning I am going to weigh in again to see how much I gained  Oh well, I can handle it - just need to get moving again. I have been job searching, Becky :) I actually have an interview next week ( first one) and I am really hopeful, it looks like it could be a great opportunity! I'm not sure how much longer I will last in current job, it gets worse by the day, so it feels good to finally be on the way of getting that part of life back in line :)

I can't wait to catch up on everyone's journals - I have been putting off logging on here because I have been so disappointed in what I have done (or not done!) lately but now that I logged in I already feel better, like I can do it. Just seeing friendly faces on here makes it seem that much more possible :) I have missed friends here so I look forward to catching up :D

Thanks everyone, it feels great to be back :D Today wasn't 100% great for food as I didn't go grocery shopping until after work so I had to make do with what was available. But overall it was really good and compared to the last few months it was a great deal better. Now I am stocked up on good food so I can stay on track.

Tonight I did Burn Fat Boost Metabolism video - ouch. It's been a while

I just realized I picked one of the most difficult weeks to get back on track with Thanksgiving on Thursday  Oh, well, I guess it's better to start now so I can keep myself motivated not too overeat that day...

Had a great day for food today until dinner - I unexpectedly had to babysit for three of nephews so I couldn't make dinner like I would have liked.

Breakfast - Kashi Go-Lean cereal with skim milk, banana
Snack - 1 cup carrots and 1 cup cottage cheese with pepper
Lunch - 4 cups baby spinach with 4 oz grilled chicken breast, mushrooms, cucumbers, tomatoes, fat free shredded cheese, Sun-Dried Tomato dressing, 1 cup grapes
Snack - 2 light string cheese, 21 almonds
DInner - frozen dinner (Lean Cuisine potatoes and broccolli covered in cheese) - it was supposed to be grilled chicken, sauteed zucchinni, mushrooms and red peppers, with 1/2 cup brown rice - but that didn't happen

I also didn't get a workout in due to not being home - but I think having a nine year old, 3 year old, and one year old for four hours was a workout in itself :) We had fun and I guess I got quite a bit of cardio in while I dragged the nine year old around attached to leg for 1/2 hour - he was being silly and it gave me a workout so I didn't fight it :D

I bought a yoga DVD today - I am looking forward to giving that a try, maybe tomorrow night!

I know I have said it before, but I have to say it again - this site really is amazing - I feel so much better now that I logged back in! It is almost a sense of relief that I feel knowing how much support I get from so many amazing people - thanks to everyone here :D

Lynne, did you ever find fat free cottage cheese? I know you were having trouble finding that before - I LOVE fat free cottage cheese. It took awhile to get used to but now I love it :)

I just realized I forgot to mention that I did weigh in Monday morning - ouch :( I gained 19 pounds  Wow, it's amazing how fast weight goes on and how long it takes to get it off! I can't say I am surprised because for two months I have done nothing in terms of exercise and I NEVER cooked, I mainly just bought fast food for lunch and ordered in for dinner most nights. I kept telling myself "next week I will get back on track." And it never happened. Actually, the other day when I logged on here I was thinking to myself that I was going to wait until after the holidays to get started again, but as soon as I logged on I was motivated again :D

Today I was going to do new yoga video but I did one of 20 minute Jillian Michaels DVDs - I have a splitting headache so I didn't want to commit to the full hour.

Today's meals:

Breakfast - Kashi Go-Lean cereal with skim milk, banana
Snack - apple with 2 tbsp natural peanut butter
Lunch - fat free cottage cheese, 1 1/2 cups carrots, 1 cup grapes
Snack - 2 light string cheese, 21 almonds
Dinner - I am about to make chicken, sauteed veggies (mushrooms, zucchini, red peppers) with olive oil, brown rice

Have a Happy Thanksgiving everybody :D

Number one you are back :D You are doing what need to do "NOW". Two, I think it took courage to get back on the right path. You could have given up completely but you didn't. I am really happy to see you back here posting. You will toss those 19 lbs before you know it! :) :)

I know how you feel, I gained back some weight too, and am working hard to get it back off, don't worry, you will lose it soon enough - just keep doing what you are doing. Keep posting here - I guarantee you it will help keep you on track - I know it does for me! :D
Have a happy turkey day! :D

I hate to be a party pooper but that is a massive amount of fruit ( carrots are high in sugar ) in one day, which = sugar = the unused portions being stored as fat.Though compared to two months of take out, its still a step in the right direction. If they have taken the fat out, they most likely have increased the carbohydrates compared to just low fat or the 1 % cottage cheese.

So a banana, apple, 1.5 c of carrots & 1 cup of grapes isn't excess fruit or sugar intake ? Kinda blown away, but okay.

Yeah I tried 1 % sour cream & it sucked, went back to 5 %, only so much loss of taste a person can bear ;)

I have to admit I wouldn't normally eat that much fruit in one day, I do try to lean towards more veggies. WHen I got to work yesterday I realized how much fruit I had packed and I had to laugh :D Normally I would have cereal (either oatmeal or Kashi) for breakfast and then have a protein shake (not the banana) and then I had the apple with PB for a snack. I have to have fruit with lunch because I need the sweet! Actally, when I prepared food yesterday morning I was so focused on getting protein in that I wasn't paying much attention to anything else in rush :) I guess it's just something to keep in mind.

Les, you say you don't like Kashi - any particular reason? I am trying to stay away from the packaged cereals but I do keep the Kashi Go-Lean on hand for when I am in a rush. It is one of the high protein ones - but is it bad anyway? Just curious.

Started off day today with oatmeal with one egg ,cinnamon, truvia, and skim milk - and a cup of coffee. I am weening myself off of the coffee, but it's not easy - yesterday I had a splitting headache and I am sure it was partly because of the lack of caffeine - and I don't want another headache today! I actually had tea yesterday morning to replace coffee. I normally only drink tea before bed but I really enjoyed it for breakfast. Now I just have to get used to cutting out the caffeine
