I am very small and underweight. I have been working out in order to gain some muscle. Before I started working out, I barely had any muscle on body. I have been going to the gym once a week for the past 3 weeks, and using Wii Fit for strength training the rest of the week. I have not been pushing myself too far.
Since I started developing the muscles in arms, every time I carry toddler (about 22 pounds), the muscle in forearm (the one on top when wrist is facing up - don't know what it's called) cramps up. This did not used to happen before I started working out.
Is there something I can do to stop this? Why is this happening? Thank you.

Re: Muscle cramping when holding child?
It might be a Salt issue. If you have been sweating more Salt due to working out.
It might also be something that goes with time. Your body just might find it needs time to adjust to the workouts, so you may possibly find the issues you descibe dissipates over the coming weeks.
Also make sure you hydrate properly as well, incase you're not doing so.

Thanks Boss Man! Now that you mention it, it very may well have something to do with hydration. I doubt I drink as much water as I should. But for whatever reason, that never even crossed mind.
