protein shake with water?

Post by musculArgirl2 »

I have a lot of protein powder i need to drink up. I've never had the guts to drink it with water?? Does that taste horrible, is that the best option than drinking it with milk?? or a better option i should say?? If you drink it with water do you add other things to make it taste better or should you just drink it plain?

If you get balance right, many can taste fine.

You do have additional options though.

1. A small amount of Honey.

2. Ground ginger.

3. Ground Nutmeg

4. Cinnamon.

5. Mocha powder.

6. Vanilla Essence

So one or more of those will workout.

stop being a wimp? if you drink beer or any kind of alcohol, why would drinking this with water seem nasty to you? if your goal is to lose weight then drink it with water, if you're serious then you'll eat or drink just about anything to get the results you want. ask any bodybuilder.

sorry i'm not trying to be a body builder. And actually i don't drink alcohol. I don't think it's necessary to eat nasty stuff to lose weight. goal is to lose weight and make eating heatlhy a lifestyle not to eat anything no matter how unappealling it is for weight loss. Water with protein actually wasn't that bad i did try it and i wouldn't call it gross. If you want to eat anything and everything unappealing all for body building or whatever go for it. LOL I thought your comment and attuditude came across really rude!

Yeah that last response wasn't helpful... you dealt with that really well!

Anyway, I just drink mine with water, but it's a a whey-based protein not soy, so I'm not sure if it's different. One thing that made a big difference to the taste was measuring the amount of water recommended precisely, and toning it down if it's too much - a watery protein shake is even worse than a perfectly mixed one, if you ask me. Does your powder have a flavour?

Two other ways I've tasted protein powder in other things and didn't want to gag:

1. Mixed into plain yogurt or blended with fruit and milk for a smoothie.
2. Blended with a frozen banana, 2 tbsp of cocoa powder, and 1 tbsp of instant coffee for a sweet snack.

I just bought some Chocolate flavored Whey Protein powder. I mix it with water, and it doesn't taste that bad, but it definitely does taste "different". Not bad though, it's not like I have to choke it down to get it down like others I have tried.

It's this one if you're interested:

Yeah, I have a lot too & need to drink them all. For soy protein, I drink it with water.
For Whey, I also drink it with water. Sometimes, I drink it with soymilk or almond milk just to change it around. :)
