16 years old. Working out. How to gain more muscle?

Post by ElLeon »

Hey I'm "El Leon" and I'm 16 years old, I started working out at the gym about 2 months ago. while on childhood I was very slim and skinny though I ate ALOT and family because of metabolism....Anyway, when I was about 11 (guess because metabolism changed) I got waaaaaaay fatter (not over weighted just fat) and I didn't actually care cause I was still little and stuff. Well around that time I start going to the gym and I was starting to lift some decent weight for age and well that wen't fine except I wasn't taking it seriously. Because I wasn't taking it seriously when membership expired mother didn't take renew it cause she's lazy and I was not that interested to push her, so after that I became pretty much sedentary.

At 8th grade I started getting concerned with weight so I started eating moderate size breakfast, lunch and dinner cutting any cravings for chips or that style, with that I actually mange to lose some of weight while being sedentary making me skinny again in about year and I was happy, parents started saying that I should exercise so I took the opportunity to go in to the gym again. Since always I haven't had alot of energy though I eat alot, so when I went into the gym I ditched the whole diet and starting eating alot so that I could be energized because normally if I didn't eat alot while working out I will become extremely tired and just be a walking zombie Because of this I'm starting to get more fast specially in obliques and gradually and I actually wouldn't care If by now I had started seeing results (Yes I have just a littlebit stronger, but I hadn't got more bulked, and I know it takes time but I would like to know in how much time should I start seeing results) And well I'm not sure the pro's of working out are beating the con's.

workouts I think are pretty much cover everything I need, I go 1 hour, warm-up cardio for 10 minutes, 30 minutes lifting weights, 20 minutes working on abs. And dieting is pretty much healthy except for now-and-then chips that now I'm trying to cut. main problem is that if I eating well WHY I'M EXTREMLY TIRED MOST OF THE TIME? and why in the world I'm not seeing results. I mean I know that to see results you have to work hard and well I would like to lift more than why I'm I lifting but I DO NOT SEEM TO BE GETTING STRONGER I go 6 days a week, c'mon I should started seeing results besides getting fatter.

Too Long; Didn't read
I just need some questions answered.

¿What would be a good bulking diet without risking getting fatter? because I have been eaten alot and I'm getting fatter
¿How do I get stronger, I mean like; Any suplements that help development?
¿Anything I can get to get more energized?
¿Obliques exercises?
¿Should I increase time at the gym?

Simple answers.

Supplements can work if you stick to basis. No fancy, expensive hype ones, because you REALLY don't need those. If they could allow you to get 30lbs of muscle in a year, they'd be something special, but they're not.

As for muscle growth, I'd aim for a relistic target of about 1lb every 8 weeks. If it happens quicker than that's fine, but otherwise, be sensible and don't overestimate your potential results.

You may be not doing enough on the weights perhaps, or using a slightly inadequate methodology.

However, the other reason you might be fatigued and not necessarily getting results could be

A: Too much exercise leading to overtraining, (going stale), causing counterproductive effects.

B: Diet inadequacies perhaps due to not enough calories, Carbs, Protein or a combination of those things.

So what meals do you eat and what times do you eat?

mmmm

Breakfast: (7:15 pm)
Orange juice or a Shake
1-2 eggs
2 little breads
*Sometimes I put eggs with sausages

ALOT OF WATER

Lunch (3:00)
Beans, or pretty much any kind of legumes
NATURAL Fruit Juice of any kind
Rice
Meat (Chicken, Pork, Beef)
Soup

5:00
Whatever I can scavenge (Bread, potato chips, cereal)

Dinner (7 or 8)
Beans or pretty much any kind of legumes
NATURAL Fruit Juice of any kind
Rice
Meat (Chicken, Pork, Beef)

First few days I started drinking a big portion of Sustagen with milk, but It didn't do anything
About 2 days ago I started drinking this supplement mother bough from Omnilife
This boosted energy, I'm doing better at the gym and more active actually

And lack of sleep was keeping me tired too

BUT now I have some questions

What can I do to improve muscle gain?
Is it better to lift more and do less repetitions or lift less and more repetitions (not with exaggerations like lift 90 pounds and do 12 reps. or 100 and do 10 reps. for purposes)

Thanks a bunch for answering previous questions, I really appreciate it. :P

(Keep a cpuple of Sausages in there for the Protein, but grill them don't fry them, so as to remove some of the Saturates.

You should add something in around 10:00, because you're meal space between Breakfast and Lunch is way too big, things like a portion of Peanuts, Low Fat Cheese, Sandwich, Beans on Toast, Chicken and a Veggies etc.)

ALOT OF WATER

Lunch (3:00)
Beans, or pretty much any kind of legumes
NATURAL Fruit Juice of any kind
Rice
Meat (Chicken, Pork, Beef)
Soup

(Have that about around 2:00 to keep your meal spaces better.)

5:00
Whatever I can scavenge (Bread, potato chips, cereal)

(Be more consistent here. ake that a definite option, not something vague if possible)

(Good)

(Less reps, more weight. I'd go between 8-10 reps on everything.)
