I buy the pre-grilled frozen strips and breasts and use them for during the week when I dont have time to grill.musculArgirl2 wrote:Grilled chicken strips sounds good too! I would like to try that. Maybe this weekend. We never grill chicken.

Re: Work In Progress - FitoverForty
I didn't get the 2nd workout done last night. Just ran out of energy.
Felt tired most of today, so no workout today.
Planning on an 8 mile run tomorrow a.m. - hopefully that will liven me up a bit.
Tried to eat a cheeseburger & fries today for lunch (supposed to be cheat meal
) but just ended up being sick. Literally felt like I poisoned body. Did not like it at all. Lesson learned. Don't know why I even wanted that. Felt like a big greasy rock sitting in stomach all afternoon.
Small setback. But like Noosk would say....(miss her)...Onwards and Upwards!!

I really like that new shot of you.
I think the shirt may look a hit slimming, but you look healthy and beautiful and I'm really proud of you for tring so hard to make things better for yourself, because when you're over a certain age, nature makes things a little more difficult, but you are becoming an inspiration and rolemodel to others with your dedication, consistency and achievement.
WELL DONE Lynne and keep up the hard work, because you are an amazing Lady and a solid gold sweetheart as well.

Thank you Boss Man. I've been working really hard at slimming down. Have not weighed myself, but feel like I've trimmed down more in the last few weeks. Lots more room in the pants, and the other day mp3 player arm band kept slipping down arm, gonna have to tighten it.Boss Man wrote:I really like that new shot of you.

I think you look slim in the pic too! You look great!
Does your son and husband eat different food than you Lynne? Is it hard for you to stick with your own food rather than eat some of what they are eating or do they eat mostly what your eating?

I cook differently for them. It isn't hard to eat own food anymore. I'm used to it.musculArgirl2 wrote:Does your son and husband eat different food than you Lynne? Is it hard for you to stick with your own food rather than eat some of what they are eating or do they eat mostly what your eating?

Today's workout:
8 mile road run. Ran with 3 other ladies - had a lot of laughs and fun.

Collard greens suppose to be healthy right? I only eat those when I go out to eat soul food.. I don't know how to cook it.fitoverforty wrote:.... I added butter and smoked ham to the collard greens, I had 1 bite of them.![]()

We grow our own. I wash them then rough chop them and put them in a pot with 1 can of LF chicken broth & water, add 2 tbsp. butter, cubed smoked ham (about 10 or 15 pieces), or sausage, chopped onion, fresh garlic, and garlic seasonings. Boil them for about 30 to 45 minutes to soften them up and serve!
they are really good. And except for the butter, they are relatively healthy, especially if I use ham and not sausage.

Tuesday's workout:
2 mile treadmill run - kept a good pace, not all out, but not too slow. Didn't want to do too much, saving it for Wed. hill/tempo run. Good productive short workout.
Wednesday's workout:
4 mile tempo/interval/hill run
Meeting a running friend who is helping me get faster. She is a faster runner than me and is going to pace me, alternating between slow and faster running every .5 mile for 4 miles with hills thrown in. Whew!! Gonna be a tough one, but I'm looking forward to it! It's just the encouragement I need to push harder to run these last few 5K's faster than I have so far.
January starts 1/2 marathon & marathon training. What? Did I just say marathon?
well, yes, I am really thinking about it for April. This same friend is encouraging me to do it. She will help me train.
Can't think of a better 50th birthday present for myself than running 1st full marathon...well, maybe a Porsche or something like that...but it's a close call.

How about a bath of milk with rose petals in it and candles around the edge and a 180lb ripped man with Pecs, in a firemans uniform, sitting behind you, massaging and kissing your upper back and neck while you bathe and telling you just how great you are
Does that crap all over a porsche?
