It's time to get goal and become a Marine!

Hey everyone, it has been some time since I last posted on here. Since then I fell of the wagon and gained back 50 pound :( and now that school is coming to an end for the semester it is time to focus on real goal, join the marines. I am at 270 right now, I was at 220 a year an a few months ago, so I am trying to get back to 220 or 210 by June of 2012. So 50-60 pounds in 8 months. It is not impossible. problem here is the motivation and eating right that kills plan. I can get myself so far and then I quit. I think I just need some fun workouts to get myself back into it, maybe a punching bag???? Anyways though I would like some feedback on losing the weight, fun workouts, and maybe some meal plans that are good for fat loss/muscle gain.

Sorry to hear that! :( Eating right especially can be a hard thing to maintain but it can be done although i'm not really a success at it as of yet. I don't have really any feedback to provide, i'm struggling myself. Do you inline skate at all, i think you were in the twin cities, if the metrodome isin't far you could rollerblade on the concourse on weekends and a few select evenings a week or cross country skiing at a park is nice too. Kind of fun things to do here in the cities during the winter. Otherwise dvds are cheap and quick access too. You lost a lot of weight once you can do it again!

Thanks for the tips, yeah eating is what gets me. I can go to the gym and burn 2200 calories, but if I eat garbage(metaphorically of course haha) then it does not mean too much. I know both of us can get on the right track there though, and thanks for the encouragement, your right, I have done it before and I can do it before, I just gotta be patient. :mrgreen:

A few things that keep me motivated….
1. Posted up meals… I get suggestions and a lot of encouragement
2. Educate myself with diet, workout, and supplements
3. Realistic short term and long term goals
4. Post a picture of goal body… LOL
5. This is a bit corny but I do a self check & positive talk to keep me positive.

What I do:
1.I post up meals in the journal section and I get feed back and a lot of encouragements from others. I share a lot of struggles and good times and having people to talk to and understand keeps me going!

2.I read around and try to educate myself as much as I can... (There’s a whole lot of stuff!!!) I share knowledge and I get educated from other users by posting up questions.

3.I give myself a bi-weekly/monthly goal and see if I can reach it. Of course long-term goal is being healthy and makes it a life style!

4.Yup, this super hot model is posted next to alarm clock so I can wake up early to workout!

5.We are human and we tend to get negative with our appearance. At least I know I am. So, once in awhile I try to tell myself I can do it and pat myself on the back and keep pushing… when time gets tough!

When you started to gain more weight again and then had to wear larger clothes and looked different, how did that make you feel?

You came to a realisation at some point that you must reignite the activites you were implementing in the past, to get yourself back on track for an end goal, but why was it that you gained 50-60 lbs, before this realisation to stop and change what you were doing came to the fore?

I'm trying to understand how these behaviour patterns manifest in you, because there is a chance they can reawaken in the future, unless you learn to control them, or break some sort of psychological cycle of progress, regress, progress, regress.

There is obviously the other main issue of what your eating will do, in order to help you lose weight.

What meals do you currently eat and what tiems do you eat at?

For me it was school, I lost track of time, stopped hitting the gym, and just started eating an extra 300 calories a day.It started to add up. Right now I wake up about 7am, eat a fiber bar and two hard boiled eggs, at 10 or 11 I have some popcorn and milk, 1 I have a peanut butter sandwich and some baked chips, usually around 4 another fiber bar, and then at 6 or so I have 6oz chicken breast, bowl of spinach, and another hard boiled egg with a nice glass of milk. I don't think that is too bad.
And thanks for the support everyone, I do agree I should have caught on earlier, but with all the stress I just didn't watch myself. Funny thing is clothing sizes didn't really change, just weight went on.

(That's a bit low Calorie really. I'd have scrambled Eggs with around 4 Whites and a Yolk, with the Fibre Bar, then add something else in like an Apple for example.)

(Have some protein with this, like some Turkey, Chicken, Ham, etc)

(Good, but I'd not have the Egg, incase you eat too many Eggs in one day.

You could eat something else around 2-3 hours after that, like a portion of Peanuts, some Low Fat Cheese, Chicken Sandwich, Beans on Toast etc. If you're concerned about mould and Aflatoxins in Peanuts, then buy western grown as opposed to eastern grown, if you have Peanuts, but if you want them and you're not bothered buy whatever brand suits you best)
