Runners Knee
I've started jogging over the past fortnight. Everyday bar Sundays--only around 2km. This coupled with a core routine and weights has produced great results. I did core and weights before but always slacked on cardio bar playing soccer once a week--it's made a big difference. The only downside is that I'm now suffering from a pain in knee--I know it's probably from not running for a while but it's making jogging really uncomfortable. I tried a knee support today which helped a little. I really don't want to stop as I'm so happy with the results. Any ideas people? I was thinking of maybe getting a rowing machine to replace jogging to save joints.
Re: Runners Knee
You could try exercise bike work instead, expecially recumbent exercise bike work, as most of the upper body weight should be channelled into the seat, so the Knee are not loadbearing, because gravity is not forcing much of the weight above the knees, directly on to them.
If recumbents don't come in a fold away option, then consider a normal one with a saddle not a seat, as you should still get the same weight sparing outcome with that too, because the saddle and shaft should channel most if not all the upper body weight, keeping it off the Legs.
