Hello,
Guess this question would be a bit similar to another I saw on the forums here while browsing around. I'm currently 23 and very overweight in opinion. In high school I played football and worked out religiously, was very fit, etc. etc. After graduating and starting to work I slowly slipped off that trend of working out often, then finally it got to the point where I just stopped all together. After being out of work for over a year with no luck in finding anything I've decided I want to try to enlist in the military. Only thing holding me back is weight.
So this is where the question comes in. I'm currently sitting right around 300 lbs, to enlist I need to drop down to roughly 220-240 lbs depending on BMI. I currently have no access to a gym/machine weights. What I do have is a set of adjustable dumb bells (ranging from 15lbs all the way up to 57.5 lbs). I was hoping that I could get some tips/advice or even possibly a work out regiment using just those dumb bells that will help me cut the fat and get back in to shape so that I can reach goal.
Not making excuses for myself, but it's very discouraging looking at how I was just a few years ago and how I am now and it makes it hard to be very...dedicated, let's say to working out with those dumb bells. I walk a few miles every day and I've noticed some weight loss (around 10 lbs) since I started about a month ago. I've looked online for complete dumb bell work outs, but everything I find seems like Greek to me, or involves things I don't have at disposal, such as adjustable benches and such.
I'm sure it seems like a lot to ask and I greatly appreciate any help that you guys can send way.
Best regards,
Tim

You'd be better first to focus on diet, as that would have a greater impact than the weights. After about 3-4 weeks of getting the diet changes bedded in, then start on the weights.
What do you eat and what times do you eat?

i avoid chips and other junk food like the plague, mostly eat fruit and veggies, normal portions of other meals (pasta, meats, etc). I try and eat on a regular schedule, breakfast between 6:30-8:00, lunch around noon, and dinner 6 or so. I slow down while I eat to make sure that I don't eat too much and give body time to catch up.

First thing to do is increase snacks. Eating 3 times a day is not in mind as beneficial as 6 melas a day and you may be getting a lack of nutrition and also calories. Plus eating 3 squares a day of big meals, may create feelings of overfullness and slight bloating.
Small and often to me seems more easy on the digestive system.
So you could be looking to add things in like Peanuts, Sandwiches, Low Fat Cheese, Nut Yoghurts etc etc.
So you're looking at mid-morning, mid-afternoon and mid-evening for snacks because if you give your body "enough" nutrition, instead of not enough, it will not feel starved and will be more willing to give up Fat.
