Strenth/cardio together?
Should I alternate strength training and cardio days when I go to the gym? I only make it 3-4 times a week and do 30-40 min. cardio each time, plus 30 min. strength training. Is that okay or should I not do it that way?
Alternating is better, as Cardio the day after can use up Muscle / Liver Glycogen for conversion, like weight trainign does, but being it's the day after, it will have less negative impact on muscle recovery.
If you have to do Cardio on weights days, (post-weights), do stuff that doesn't directly work the taxed muscles again.
E.G. after working upper body muscles don't do Rowing machine, do stuff like Bike and Treadmill, that require no use of Upper body muscles, so you don't directly stimulate upper body muscles more with Cardio.
Same with Legs, do something like Bike, so the seat / saddle, takes a lot of weight bearing off the Legs, so you tax them less.
