Yeah it grosses mother out, but when she bakes yams & potato they come out as hard as hockey pucks.A properly baked yam is dripping with sticky sweetness, whats not to love :)

Actually mine are probably a tab over cooked also, don't imagine the sugar should be leaking out ? I just like them creamy inside..I just had one for dinner..YUM.

Today is off day.

I flipped back in these pages...started the 2 x workouts 25 days ago

weight was 110.9..currently 112.2 ..gain of 1.3 lbs
Illacus measurement was 29.5...currently 29
waist @ button was 27..currently 27

Seems the greater portion of fat, shed itself from those " love handles " area, which is directly behind the illacus crest.

I may scrap the second workout tomorrow depending on how quad feels during weights.Might be elliptical on saturday not treadmill sprints, also to enable proper healing, for next weeks workouts.Hope you all have a great day.

Potatos contain Solinene, which can leech Calcium from Bones, as can Aubergine, (Egg Plant) and Tomatos. Solinene is about 70% in Potato skin and 30% in flesh. However it can be destroyed when cooking properly.

Potato is a very good source of Vitamin C howver, which is one plus point, but there are substitutes that will do, but in the case of what you're eating, you'd have to experiment with Yam and see how it goes. Perhaps consider Potato again, if you find the Yam makes it taste too funny or weird.

Todays workout

3 min warm up

Pull up with belt & plate
1 x 5/4/5 with 5 lb plate
with
Step ups 16 "
1 x 8 x 95...2 x 6 x 95
with
split squat jumps
3 x 4

Bench press
1 x 8 x 75...2 x 6 x 80
with
MB throws from supine position
3 x 4 x 14/15 lb

Dead lifts
1 x 6 x 130...x 6 x 135...x 5 x 140
with
Squat jumps
3 x 4

One arm row
3 x 6 x 40

Hanging leg raises
3 x 10

High to low. low to high..high to low wood chops
3 x 8 x 11/12 lb MB

Ab curls
3 x 8

Workout took 60 minutes because I forgot to pair the ab work in, little on the space cadet zone today.Probably moving somewhat slower also.

Have two pots of beans on the go at the moment & the pasta out, time to fill the freezer again.Trying a different chili today.Don't have black beans, using pinto.Forgot to pick those up as well as the sour cream for vegetable dip, again. It now takes me 2 weeks to eat the same container of dip, before it was 5 days, tops.Only skin left on abdominals now, wish I could say the same for the legs ? I will keep the 20 extra minutes in on cardiovascular days, basically because I'm already warmed up.Will see what happens regarding the legs over the next week or two, before changing the game plan again.

I restarted the step ups, there is no replacement for those. hand slipped, right after I picked up the bar,on the last set of dead lifts. Otherwise I could of done the last rep, this is starting to be an issue, though it was the left hand this time.I don't remember if grip is better or worse with gloves, mine were stolen long ago & I never replaced them. Some feedback on that topic would be appreciated.

I seem very disturbed by recent events in the news this week.I know I'm going to seem like a heartless person talking about this. This week one of our hospitals was so FULL they treated a patient in the tim hortons coffee shop attached to the hospital. What I don't understand is why the public is so outraged or shocked.Seriously would the hospital be so over crowded if people ate properly ? The head of the nursing union weighs easily 300 lbs, her chins wobbling throughout the entire news cast, fantastic example of health there. Its right up there with the health care workers you see hanging out smoking in front of the hospital.

I of all people KNOW what its like to be addicted to a substance, even food.I am very strong willed & can quit most things at the drop of a hat. When I used to eat junk food years ago, SURE it tasted good, what I didn't know at that time was the more you eat it, the more your body craves it.The ONE good thing I see about this seventeen day diet is the fact he boots crap food out.Seventeen days might be just enough to break that blasted addiction to the fat & sugar.Though once a person DOES finally give all that up, when you DO try to go back to it, the deep fried doughnut won't taste like a bread filled wonder, it will coat your tongue in grease & make you gag at the sweetness.

Someone at work offered me a tim bit today, instead of thinking oh a treat, yummm doughnut. The thoughts that went through head was " oh gross, seriously you eat that ? " however I politely said I don't eat such foods, thank you anyway though.I am worried about the direction this world is going in & frustrated because its so SIMPLE to change it.Suppose I'll have to be satisfied with one person at a time for now.Hope you all had a great day :)

I feel the need to add this, if someone told that nurse " You need to lose weight to be a good example. " I have a feeling there would be a " human rights " issue brought up.What I'd like to know is where are human rights to expect timely medical care, instead of the medical system being clogged up with persons with health problems due to not taking care of themselves ( obviously doesn't include things not caused by poor lifestyle habits ).

It's selfish but it's life.

I have a mother that eats poorly, skips breakfast, smokes, is overweight, aging and makes excuses like Breakfast makes her feel a bit sickly, but strangely she can eat it in hotels when shes on holiday, as if being in hotels makes the experience normal.

It pees me right off she's on blood thinners, because that's easily reversible, as I don't know of one single medical example, where someone would have to have blood thinners for life as a chronic medication. Blood thinners are not a response to things "beyond your control", like chronic pain meds are, they're a response to things "in your control", that you don't take control of.

It's easy for someone to pop a pill with water and control one issue, but the excuses like I can't find time to exercise, I'm busy, healthy food always costs too much, exercise is expensive and boring, are just flimsy excuses in probably 90% of unhealthy people, where at least one of those excuses would be invalid.

I used to use a site where someone had 2 kids, a full time job, studied and still found time to exercise at 4AM. She probably didn't get into it until her mid to late 30's, so If she found the time, most people can, they just think they can't or don't want to believe the truth.

It's not hearltess to expect people in a healthcare environment to represent their jobs better. I wonder what sort of medics smoke, because you'd have to hope they were specialising in something like Urology, so they were not very likely to treat or advise on many smoking related problems. If someone knew a Cardiologist was on 20 a day, or 5-6 big Cigars, they'd be really cross I suspect, knowing how many times he or she the Doctor, would have to work as a professional hypocrit, every time they worked with smoking related patieints and get pretty good money for it too.

I'm not saying healthcare professionals should practice what they preach religiously, I mean a dietician might not like eating Fish for some reason, but I wouldn't expect them to never espouse Fish as a food source, because it's good advice, with the caveat of moderation being added, based on metal consumption.

However a healthcare professional who's 300lbs, to me is not very professional and needs to re-evaluate their behaviour, because they may well be giving warnings, advice and caveats to people they never heed themselves and not practicing some of what you preach is fair enough, but almost none of it is plain unnacceptable, which you could argue a 300lb female hospital worker is doing, effectively practicing little to none of what they preach and it doesn't have to be specific, just exercise and eat properly, two basic principles, tailored to the individual.

I know I wouldn't be happy if I needed a hospital bed for some disease or condition I didn't cause, to find it being given to someone who had the same thing that was self inflicted, on the basis they were worse than me. I'd feel inclined to think screw them, it's their fault make them wait for the treatment, but I'd grudglingly accept the situation and wait.

People could rant about human rights, but where's the human rights problem, expecting a 300lb healthcare worker to slim down properly, to a more acceptable level. Down to half the weight would be acceptable, not necessarily 1/3 of it, which would be a bit too much.

If that person was needed in an emergency, how quickly could they respond and how could that exacerbate or worsen the corcumstances, if their response time was inadequate, due to lack of fitness and being slow due to weight?

So perfectly valid gripes and whatever the people outside smoking want to say in defense, you could mention the many others who work in hospitals that don't, who have just as stressful and in some cases more stressful days.

Thanks boss man, not quite sure why this got to me so much. The woman who was being treated in the coffee shop died, after she had a second stroke. She kept telling her daughter she just wanted to rest, as she was bounced around the hallways & ended up in the coffee shop for her final hours.

mom smokes too, though so far she isn't on any medications for anything, she just turned 70 last November. She eats all meals, she tries to pick fairly health based foods & grows her own vegetables etc.One of the reasons I started cooking different balanced meals, is because I know she thought I ate kind of weirdly. How many persons eat meat, vegetables, grains & salad all separated for the whole day ? Not many.Hence experiments with meals, that meet all necessary requirements & still keep the fat away.

Tonights chili & WOW what a bowl full of vegetables and beans..some extra lean ground beef in place of the turkey..not sure if they counted the meat in the nutrition content, because it says optional..

http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Black-Bean ... etail.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I made 7 servings..at 1.5 cups...which would make the protein @ 17.1 ... carbohydrates including sugars...24.3 g ...saturated fats...1.8 Under the detailed nutrition its quite high in vitamin A, which I have no idea what that vitamin does ?..Will make pasta dish tomorrow, cooking those beans etc, took longer than I thought.

This is quite the diet..heavy on the protein, so question is IF I wanted to have a horrendous amount of mass, which I don't quite happy the way I am...diet wise how would one go about achieving this goal ?..is this type of diet I'm posting the way one would go about it ?

Yeah thats what I thought too.Personally I eat at least 170 g of carbs on weights day just in grains, not even counting fruit or vegetables, only slight reduced for less activity.I'd fall on face with less, no energy :( Thanks Les :)

Todays workout

Same sprints as last time except at 8.4 mph.

5 minutes treadmill @ incline 1.5..5.5 mph

15 mins Elliptical level 8..5 - 5.3 mph

Think I'm getting bored of the treadmill, well that & I felt a stitch coming.Hopped on the elliptical only to have intestine issues, maybe that chili ? Said to soak the chickpeas for 4 hours to prevent digestion issues. Which I DIDN'T do, just cooked them. A lady said to me on way out of the gym " You have killer arms " so glad she didn't ask me what I do with them. From now on I think I will use the answer, compound lifts, because really I don't do any arm work & it sounds lame saying " nothing ".Just this morn I though, hmm should i start working triceps, guess its confirmed NO I don't need to.Time to cook up the batch of kamut rottini pasta this afternoon, freezer will be restocked. Have a great day everyone :)
