Land Paddling - The Kahuna Big Stick

The most exciting workout I've come across is Land Paddling - or longboarding with the Kahuna Big Stick. The Kahuna Big Stick has rubber contacts on the bottom, which let you paddle on the street with a longboard skateboard. It's about a million times easier than skateboarding. Riding with a longboard is more stable and easier to ride than a skateboard, and the stick helps you keep your balance and lets you brake. I started doing it because I thought it was fun, but I found out I burn about as many calories Land Paddling as I do jogging, and I get a serious upper-body workout. After riding for a while, I've noticed a real difference in chest and triceps. It also gets your abs and shoulders really well. I still try to go to the gym as often as I can, but it is so nice taking out longboard and Kahuna Big Stick for a couple miles to get an all-around workout while exploring the neighborhood or our awesome bike trails.

* I took that picture right before stand up paddle boarding down the Yarra River into the heart of Melbourne, Australia. SUP is also an awesome, fun way to be fit. :D
