That thing is broke. Go out and buy a good one. It is worth the money if you really want an accurate reading.

Max Heart rate is 220-age.
You're topping over 190, so either you're going bazurk on a treadmill, or your monitor is spewing out some funky readings.

Re: 194 heart rate good?
I have a similar issue. I've been running recently and heart rate is at about 210! for about 20-30 mins. And that is me trying to go very slowly and it's exhausting with a heart rate that high. I didn't think I was THAT unfit, but I guess I am!
Apparently I need to do some sprinting to get it down in short 30 secs on and then 30 secs rest. Any other suggestions?
Cheers,
Felix

I've had almost the same. I've recently bought myself a polar heart rate monitor and it had me at 184 bpm for jogging at 8.5 km/hr for 20 minutes on the treadmill.
I think it's normal for me though. I'm not fit, but I'm not unfit either.
I had a fitness test years ago and the PT was shocked at heart rate asking "how are you still talking to me?????"
Unless you're feeling unwell from the exercise, having chest pains or anything, from what I'm aware of, you're fine.
I've asked friend (a div 1 nurse) about it and she said as long as I feel fine, I'm ok. You might be the same??
If you're worried about it, get it checked out.
