what type of cardio should i do to get rid of fat covering abs

Good old interval should be fine.

Just use a setting you can handle, and then increase it weekly, when you feel a little more capable.

You shouldn't need to go beyond about 30 minutes a session really. Max 6 times a week, minimum 3 times.
