I am a 56 year old Fitness instructor who naturally wants to stay at a healthy weight despite what women's bodies tend to do at age.
I am currently maintaining weight of 135 lbs which is perfect for me. Here is current workout schedule (classes I teach and do for myself combined)
Indoor cycle (spin) 6 days a week
Body sculpting 2 days a week
Yoga 3 days a week
Pilates 1 day a week
Recently, since I added 2 classes I have been feeling exhausted and run down. I take vitamins and am sure I am eating healthy and the right amounts . family and friends think this exercise routine is too much for a woman age .
Any thoughts ?
too much exercise ?

Anything that starts off at six days per week to me flags concern.Though I don't participate in any of those activities, so won't be of much help in opinions really.
If you're feeling run down, it seems logical to scale it back a bit and see how you feel.
Have you considered ditching the body sculpting and pilates class? Between your cardio regimen and yoga classes, you're probably pretty "sculpted" ; ) You could also consider ditching it all and try something completely different, refresh your workout a bit and see if it invigorates you. Is there anything else you've been wanting to try, like rock climbing, swimming, triathlon, boxing, or weight lifting? Change it up and scale it back, I bet your body will thank you ; )

Re: too much exercise ?
I agree with Lespleas, it sounds like you are overtraining. Don't forget that not only do the muscles get taxed when training, but so does the nervous system. As much as you are doing, the body can't keep up. I would suggest you take a week off from everything, and then scale back a bit. You may not be able to cut everything because it is your job, but do what you can. Good luck.

Re: too much exercise ?
Then maybe your also over training ?
Seriously since I stepped up program, I can't even think straight.I can't imagine what it must be like to be attending so many classes & teaching them.I mean its not like you can slack off when you are teaching. The mental strain alone would wear a person down.

Selecting a form of exercise you actually find enjoyable, is perhaps the most important thing you can do to insure your exercise success. When you find an exercise you actually like, you will have won a major part of the battle in being able to sustain an exercise program.
