It says in the article: The researchers concluded that your odds of getting and staying slim are best when carbs make up to 64% of your total daily caloric intake, or 361 grams.

I guess that's what i was thinking on the difference. On here i've read 40% carbs for weight loss. 64% though is more style. :)

Yeah 65 really when i think about it is high. 50% range is a little more style too. :) I do know your all about balance Les which is really the best way to be in life. :) And yes i agree a can of coke isin't filling versus complex carbs. Is metabolic syndrome also where you can get diabetes too? I may be thinking of something different.

I've never tried black beans in rice. rice yes, i don't eat to much in beans except green beans, but i know that's not the same. I'm not sure how to cook it or what to buy, or if i will like it.

I'm actually at risk for metabolic syndrome due to a few factors. :( Next time i go to the store i will get some black beans and try it with some rice. I'll have to look some recipes up. I love rice. I not much of a bean person but buying one can, won't be to spendy, so might as well try and see. :)

Of course the article doesn't say what the research study was either. And yahoo articles aren't the most reliable. Some of their stuff makes me wonder who wrote it. The worst article I've ever read was a yahoo article.

Weght loss at 65% of daily calorirc intake from Carbs, sounds frankly ludicrous. I wouldn't reccomend anything above 50% and more like 40% in most cases.

If a female who didn't exercise consumed the sedentary average of 1,800, that means the calories from Carbs would be 1,170 calories, (292.5g Carbs), which over 6 meals a day would be 195 calories per meal or 48.75g Carbs per meal, which is too much, when you wouldn't need to go above 40 in honest opinion with most meals.

So I woould suggest ignoring such ratios really.
