HELP!

Post by n2c4u22 »

HEY EVERYONE,
I started new " lifestyle" change Jan 3, 2011. starting with the special K diet that i follow everyday and i workout Mon-Fri for about two hours. I start with cardio , first on the treadmill doing the HIIT, then the bike, rowing machine, step master, and the elliptical. All of which I am using the weight loss program and thats about an hour. I then go on to the weight room and I use every machine as well as different exercises with the medicine ball. So I am eating right, drinking water none stop and exercising 5x's a week and still see no results!

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG??? please help

BTW ... I am 5'2 1/2.. WT 189 18 yr old F......

So far I only lost 1 pound and 6 inches off waist.. discouraging! :?

goal is to at least get down to 140...ok the Special K Challenge is basically eating 5 meals a day using the Special K products the goal is to lose 6 pounds in 2 weeks. Clearly I didn't lose it but I'm sticking to the Program to help me eat well balanced meals.

Hi there :).

Waste of time that diet in honest opinion. Eating those shakes and Bars? Special K Fruit bars have 90 calories. They are not adequate for between meals and most meal replacement "diet shakes", are crammed with vitamins and Minerals and are low calorie, so you might want to chew an Arm off within 2 hours if you're not careful :P .

You need around 1,800 a day calorie intake, for a sedentary female, so ignore people or companies spouting rubbish like, "for fast weight loss, limit to 1,200 a day, but no less", because most things that happen fast, often come with downsides, mistakes and problems.

Ever been in a hurry and felt stressed? Ever poured a drink too quick and spilt some, or done a task too fast and made mistakes?

The truth is that fast weight loss can happen, but don't expect it to be healthy and if you ate 2 x 90 calorie meal bars a day, then assuming you'd eat 6 meals a day, you'd need 1,620 calories from the other 4 meals, which is 405 calories a meal.

To put that into context, that's like eating 2 full Chicken Breasts, a big Baked Potato and a small amount, (45 calories worth), of Olive Oil.

Alternatively, 2 big Baked Potatos and a Chicken Breast + Oil.

Add in some regular level exercise to the mix and you're talking around 2,100-2,200 for your caloric intake per day, so with meal bars factored in, that's around 2,020 calories for 4 other meals, or 505 calories, which is equivalent to 2 Chicken Breasts, 2 Baked Potatos and around 25 calories of Oil, (2.8g approx) for each meal.

Might be good if you're a big mlae bodybuilder, who eats that many calories 8-10 times a day, but you're not, so having to compensate too much in some meals, for too few calories in others, isn't great and potentially makes your metabolism go up and down too much every day, when the body isn't responding to similar levels of calories each time you eat.

So forget the special K diet and try the sensible, steady, healthy kind of diet, as opposed to short-term quick diets, that may lose you some muscle and too much stored water as well, that you would want to keep. We can help you work out something more sensible to have in your life if you wish :).
