I'm not really sure where to post this but I'm sure a moderator will move it if need be.
problem in opinion is serious. I have had a lot of trouble over the years with brain not really functioning right. Over the years I used to nitpick everyones spelling. Now I realize I'm spelling the simplest words wrong. I can't remember anything. I have put reminders in phone for everything that isn't on a set schedule. It's really starting to worry me. The only reason I thought of asking here is because exercise can do good things for your mind.
I truly believe this is going to cost me relationship because I forget everything girlfriend says. I did go to a doctor about 7 years ago and he said I may have ADD and he put me on medication. However I promptly stopped taking it because it gave me and that was totally not cool at 21 years old.
Another thing that I notice for example when I'm posting in a forum I repeat myself. I'll post topic then read it and be like... 'WTF???'. So I'm sure I probably dk it during everyday conversations.
I know I need to go see a doctor. However I was wondering if there is anything else I can do prior to further diagnose what may be going on? Oh and I'm noticing once in a while I very slightly slurr speech too. Please help me!!!

If you're forgetting things, it may be a problem with the Limbic System.
The Limbic system contains two important areas, the Hippocampus and the Amydala. The Hippocamopus deals with things like Memories, so ou may have an issue with that. Perhaps you have in the past suffered mild head trauma or you have some kind of cognitive issues as well.
Try this.
Get a piece of paper, draw a grid on it, then draw several pairs of shapes. Use several different shapes, say around 16 different ones, so you have 32 squares with 16 pairs.
Cut the shapes out and then turn them upside down, then shuffle them and arrange them to for in a rectangular or square shape.
You've created a crude guess and match memory game.
You turn over two pieces of paper and if they match discard them.
If they don't match, put them back where they were.
You might want to start with a simple amount of say 4 pairs, which you can then attempt to solve, by timing yourself.
Do it a few times and see if you get any faster.
Try this for a few days for maybe 10-30 minutes a day, then start using 8 pairs, then 12, then all 16.
After a few weeks, you should be able to see if using more pairs makes it really hard or becomes easier over time like it should with less pairs.
If you can get to the 16 pairs and start solving them in a quicker way, it shouldn't be because you have the squares in the same position, as they should always be random, it should be because you've boosted your memory capabilities / capacities.
I'd suggest you try this every day for a few weeks and see if it helps, as it's free and won't cost anything

The most common cause of these issues are likely anxiety or depression. These can cause slow-thinking, forgetfulness, lack of interest and other symptoms. The best thing you can probably do is just talk to your doctor about it. Antidepressant medications are excellent these days! SSRIs and SNRIs are great for this.
